recognizes get florida. miami-dade police are searching for three suspects after a mass shooting that has left two people dead and up to 25 others injured. injured. this happened just after midnight in north miami date outside a billiards hall that had been rented out for a concert. police say three identified people got out of a white nissan pathfinder armed with assault weapons and handguns and started shooting into the crowd. officials say they believe this was a targeted act of violence. we will bring you updates as we continue this morning. we want to say good morning. it's may 30.

wake of wednesday's mass shooting at the vta railyard. these nine employees were shot and killed by their own coworker. colonel bernard is in san jose with new details. >> i feel like i want to be here. be a part of this. >> reporter: sylvia brought flowers and her own silent prayers to the growing memorial outside of san jose city hall for nine vta employees whose lives were cut short by a gunman. >> this is overtime and we have to support each other and we have to support all these families. they are hurting right now. >> reporter: chaplains from billy graham ministries are here offering support. >> we want to enter a person's life who has been impacted. and provide some emotional and spiritual support. >> reporter: the home of the suspected gunman samuel cassidy is boarded up. police have left the neighborhood. on friday police detonated what was thought to be a suspicious device found at his home.

investigators revealed the alleged vta gunman had an arsenal of weapons. evidence that remained even after he simultaneously set his home and fire while he shot and killed nine of his coworkers at this vta railyard. >> there was a pot on the stove. the stove is likely turned on. inside the pot they located ammunition. around the pot there were accelerants. >> reporter: investigators uncovered an estimated 25,000 rounds of ammunition, a dozen guns, and 17 molotov cocktails. is a cassity's guns weren't locked away but stashed near different doorways ready to use. at the railyard, cassidy first killed several coworkers in when building and then was seen on surveillance video calmly walking over to a second building where he murdered several more. cassity's father told our media partners he apologizes to the victims families for his son's unthinkable acts saying i don't think anything i could say

could ease their grief. i'm really really very sorry. investigators still processing the crime scene. they say still no clear motive to the crime. cassity's father telling our media partners that he saw his son last week and there was no hint that anything was wrong. vta planning a public memorial to the victims sometimes in the future. >> a vigil was held last night for the victims of the vta shooting. a few dozen people attended the event at the, when victim was a member of the community. another vigil will be held later today. this one and union city. it begins at 5:00 p.m. the event was organized by local residents who want to show their solidarity. you can help support the families of victims in this tragedy. had to abc7news.com/take action.

we have information on how to donate to families directly impacted by the gun violence. turning to the coronavirus. over 70.2 million californians are fully vaccinated against covid-19. another 4.3 million have gotten windows. the state 70 positivity rate remains under 1%. there is something worth watching. vietnam is reporting a new variant and it says is a hybrid of the was found in india and the uk. it's something to follow. numbers are looking good and as we get closer to california's reopening, abc7 is on vaccine watch. bay area counties are deploying mobile vaccine squads to get even more of the population vaccinated. luz pena reporter has a look at the strategy and how community leaders helping to get people shots and the comforts of their own home. >> reporter: 65% of san francisco residents are fully vaccinated.

to return immunity, we need at least 75% of the population to be protected according to experts. the focus is to make it easier for the rest of the population to get the vaccine. >> those remaining pockets, people who have not had the time to get a vaccination, didn't know how to do it, or didn't have the logistics. >> reporter: the department of public health is deploying mobile vaccine units targeting those who can't leave their home or don't have access to transportation to make it to vaccination sites. >> senior residents, complex apartments that they are being getting vaccinated. single room at hotels. >> reporter: community groups and the latino task force are pushing the strategy even further, starting in the mission district. >> we are going door to door. are creating a new campaign, fixing aiding people at home

we are live over the miami area right now as we are following that breaking news. two people have died and more than 20 people have been shot in and ms. shooting. it happened just after midnight, miami time on this memorial day weekend. police say it happened at what is believed to be an event, a billiards hall that was rented out for a concert. three suspects drove up in a car and began shooting indiscriminately into the crowd before driving away and there is a manhunt underway right now for those suspects. we will bring you any information as we get it. the police department director called this a cowardly act. said they believe it may have been targeted. we will bring updates as we get them this morning. as americans return to the skies in big numbers this

memorial day weekend, domestic airfares are on the rise. right now the median round-trip domestic fair stands at $357. that's 12% higher than in the first three months of the year. many americans reluctant to travel overseas right now are chasing fewer receipts on certain popular domestic routes. something to note, your frequent flyer miles may soon lose value. >> airlines may end up choosing to devalue this point a little in order to make up some of the revenue they have lost in the past year. >> travel experts say use your miles as soon as you can. wait until mid-august to take your vacation. that is when better deals typically start showing up. in the east bay, police are cracking down a possible sideshows. officer stopped 50 cars and issued more than a dozen citations friday night. it happened near the summersville town center. one person was arrested and at least five cars were towed.

i think people will be happy to have the warm-up but we have to be careful. a warning from a mother after her teenaged daughter was severely burned trying to imitate a video she son tiktok. her injuries are difficult to see. she said on may 13, she heard 13-year-old destiny screaming. she found her daughter in the bathroom on fire. she believes destiny was copying a tiktok video where someone draws a shape using flammable liquid on a mirror and light it on fire. the seventh grader suffered third-degree burns from this and will be in the hospital for at least two months. >> papacy watch her kids closely . closer if you have to. they get mad at you, so what quick's it your child's life. it can change instantly. >> she doesn't blame tiktok. she blames the users who upload those without any warning.

a follow breaking news in the miami, florida, area. up to 25 people shot and two killed in a mass shooting at a concert banquet hall. police say just after midnight, three suspects pull up in a white nissan pathfinder and started shooting into the crowd. we know someone rushed to the hospital. the suspects are still on the loose. police say they believe this was a targeted attack in some way. just a sad way for people celebrating memorial day weekend or having a nice holiday weekend. we will keep you updated on new details as they become available.
