this is acb 7 news. >> in is a dispickable act of gun violence. a cowardly act. >> authorities giving new details on another early morning mass shooting. this itch time leaving two people dead and up to 20 others injured. this morning, abc news reporting the miami area shooting came after a birthday party for a local rapper. gunfire exploding at a banquet hall just after midnight eastern time. authorities say a white suv pulled up just after the party ended with three suspects opening fire with assault weapons and handguns. our abc affiliate in the area reports a number of wounded drove themselves to local hospitals. two people are on life support. police are still looking for

hurting right now. >> chaplains from billy graham ministries are here offering support. >> and we just want to be able to enter into a person's life who has been impacted. they are in a state of crisis and just provide some emotional and spiritual support for them. >> reporter: the home of suspected gunman samuel cassidy is now boarded up. police have left this neighborhood. on friday, police detonated what was initially thought to be a suspicious device found at cassidy's home. investigators revealed the alleged vta gunman had an arsenal of weapons. it is evidence that remains even after the mass shooter simultaneously set his home on fire while he shot and killed nine of his coworkers at this vta railyard wednesday. >> there was a pot on the stove. the stove was likely turned on. inside the pot, they located ammunition. around the pot, there was axel rants. >> investigators uncovered an estimated ewe mission in addition. a d 178molotav

cocktails. cassidy's guns weren't locked away. rather stashed at different doorways ready to use. eight the railyard, cassidy first killed several coworkers in one building and then was seen on this surveillance video walking over to a second billing where he murdered several more. cassidy james apologizes to the victim's families for his son's unthinkable acts saying i don't think anything i could say could ease their grief. i am really sorry. investigators still prosecuting the crime scene here at the rail yard. they say still no clear motive to this crime. cassidy's father telling our media partners that he saw his son just last week and there was no hint that anything was wrong. vta planning a public memorial to the victims sometime in the future. in san jose, abc 7 news. an syringe was held in san jose for the victims of the vta

shooting. one victim, topped saying was a member of the community. another vigil will be held later today and this one was in union city. it begins at 5:00 p.m. this. >> you can support the victims in this tragedy. you can do that by heading to abc 7 news.com/takeaction. and we will find information how to donate to the families directly impacted. over 17.2 million californians are fully vaccinated. another 3.3 million have gotten one dose. the state's seven-day positivity rate remains under 1%. there is something worth watching.

abc 7 is on vaccine watch. bay area counties are deploys mobile vaccine squads to get more all of the population vaccinated. abc 7 news reporter, a member of our vaccine team has a look at the strategy and how community leaders are hoping to get shouting in their own home. to reach herd immunity we need at least 75% of the population to be protected according to experts. the focus now is to make it easier for the rest of the population to get the vaccine. >> those remains pockets of people who just don't have the time to get a vaccination. just didn't have the logistics. and deploys mobile vaccine units. >> senior residencies.

weekend travel rush. nearly 2 million people were screened just on friday alone. a new record since the start of the pandemic. abc news reporter is looking at the crowds from new york's will guardia airport. this morning america on the move once again on the you move once again setting more travel word record this is memorial day weekend. >> definitely a lot more proud and longer lines. >> the tsa screening just shy of 2 million people on airports around the country. about six times adds many as last year. >> it feels good. it is like you feel the unity of everybody coming outside without having to worry as much about getting sing and things like that. >> reporter: miami beach and indy 500 for tourists coming off of a year at home. overall, tsa screenings were still down about 24% from 2019. >> we have almost the same number of daily flights to destinations we had two years ago but they are in a smaller plain. last year, 2020 became the worst year we have ever had. now, 2021 is right here in the

this morning looking at summerlike heat. the rest of today into memorial day and that marine layer returns as soon as monday night. i am sure we will be welcoming it. upper elevations 15 to 33-mile- an-hour north winds. that ised aing in that warm-up as the atmosphere pushes down on us here. and looking at that wind profile, showing the breezy winds along the coast. 15 to 20 miles an hour for the east bay. the north bay, maybe up to 30, and breezy at the shoreline. by tomorrow when that fog wants to come back, we'll get into a stronger seabreeze. about 30 miles an hour through the delta. a huge add heat advisory from noon tomorrow until 9:00 with low 90s to 100 for walnut creek, san ramo. n. napa. and then as we get into salano county even hotter with our excessive heat warning through 8:00 tomorrow night. for fairfield, could see about 105 be the warm air staying in place more or less through tuesday, but begins to ease up.
