>> the botanical garden is searching for a thief behind an unusual crime. the director said the greenhouse got broken into between sunday night and sunday morning. when the director arrived, the door was smashed, but all the plants were still there. the burglar apparently took electronics from the offices on the garden grounds. >> it had cacti in it. as you may know, cacti and seculants are popular. fortunately, the plants were not damaged. there were none taken, as far as we can tell. thing that lowe can n n n replace. >> professor foldman said they are still taking inventory. this is the first time the botanical garden has been broken into. business insider obtained the documents from a lawsuit between google and the state of arizona. in it. employees say there was no way

the confrontation happened friday evening. police got a report of a man attempting to assault women in the area. he knocks her to the ground. biostanders jump in, and they end up pulling the suspect, 33- year-old gerardo cantreras off the police officer. >> he was a big die. he had a death grip on her, and he was not letting go. >> the officer had minor injuries, according to documents obtain by abc 7 news anchor deion lim. this is not cantreras' first run in with the law. he has been arrested for assault, elder abuse, assaulting officers in parts of california. not clear if he was ever convicted. commuters in the south bay should be prepared this week. bta light rail service continues to be canceled until further notice as the investigation into last week's mass shooting at the rail yard

in san jose continues. . jamina has more. >> reporter: the transportation authority says the light rail service on its 3 lines will be canceled until further notice following last week's deadly shooting at the guadalupe yard. buses will replace trains for the time being, and the bta is telling riders to factor in extra time travel because of that change. the trauma from the loss of the nine lives in the tragedy has overwhelmed the tight-knit transit agency. a memorial was held in union city illegal immigrant to remember those lost. among them, 36-year-old tatez singh, a resident of union city. there were shared memories of dedicated public service whose lives were cut too short. >> just last week, he had brought in muffins that he was so proud that he had baked himself, and he was cutting them in half so he could share them with everybody.
