breeze that turns left at the golden gate. it shoots through the delta, fairfield has 33-mile-per-hour winds. northwest winds are pushing down into the south bay also you can see there, san jose, northward, it is already cloudy. some of those clouds are giving away a little mist this morning. so don't be surprised if you are moving through the hills and the coast, a little bit of that falls on you or is hanging in the air. temperatures inland, cooling once again. 90s are gone except for around lake port and ukiah. and 77 in san jose, san rafael, 75. and 60s around san mateo. we will talk about how much cooler it will be coming up in the seven-day forecast. san jose police are expected to give another update about a deadly police shooting today. protesters are demanding justice for a man officers shot and

killed. >> black lives matter. >> black lives matter. >> black lives matter. >> this crowd of people marching on the guadeloupe freeway to police headquarters chanting the name of demetrius stanley. pictures show stanley pointing a gun at officers as they were conducting an armed robbery investigation. family members tell our news partners that is not the whole story. they say neighbors home security video show police officers were in plain clothes in unmarked vehicles and did not announce themselves as police. the police department said it is being transparent with the family. >> officer involved shooting, person of color. there is a lot of questions. people want answers. we are meeting with the family. we are sharing as much information as we can with them. >> the monday night shooting marks the second deadly police shooting of the year by san jose

police. >> today marks one week since a mass shooting in san jose that left nine bta employees dead. as the community continues to mourn the lives lost, this investigation is picking up. the sheriff's office just released new body camera video. our reporter amy hollyfield is live with what they are sharing with us. amy? >> reporter: we do have the video. we want to warn you it does contain disturbing images and sounds, like the sound of gunshots. it shows what happened here one week ago today. it takes you inside those terrifying moments. >> reporter: as the contact team is moving through the dispatch center, one shot is heard. >> reporter: shots were still being fired as offics arrived d ormed i blding. they s tnmped ove

in a chair. they see the gun in his hand. he had shot himself. the sheriff applauded the brave work of the officers who responded last wednesday. she said they were carrying out their active shooter training which involves law enforcement from different agencies all working together. >> it was put into action by the sheriff's office and san jose police officers who hardly spoke a word to each other. they knew that their job was. they did their job and confronted the suspect that took his own life. >> reporter: nine bta employees were shot to death in the attack on their work place. investigators found more ammunition on the gunman. they believe he would have kept shooting people if the officers had not arrived and confronted him. so they believe the officers saved lives last wednesday. live in san jose, amy

the gunman drove to his home and set it on fire before killing himself. >> i have always prayed that we would never have a line of duty death. and never thought that if it occurred, it would occur in this fashion. >> the firefighter who died worked with the department for more than 20 years. sources tell our sister station in los angeles that the suspect was involved in an ongoing dispute with a coworker. >> thank you. the alameda county fire department is flying its flags at half staff in the wake of the shooting. the department tweeted this photo saying our hearts go out to the los angeles county fire department, family, friends, community. officials are blaming fireworks for a vegetation fire that destroyed two apartment buildings in antioch. officials released pictures from the scene. a 44-year-old man is under

arrest. he threw a fire cracker into the field behind the apartments. the fire destroyed 8 units and displaced 40 people. let's talk about what is going on temperature wise. we will start in the south bay neighborhood. 52 in san theresa, 51 in morgan hill, the cool spot is los gattos. this way and elsewhere, a lot of 50s out there, napa, san francisco, and also half moon bay. the rest of us in the low to mid-50s. clouds are on the increase throughout the morning commute as you can see from our camera. they are hanging low. they have more moisture in them than yesterday. some mist is possible during the morning commute. we will have the usual clouds pulling back to the coast, keeping you in the 50s. 67 to 78 for the inland temperatures. at 4:00, 72 to 83, no more 90s.

that trend to continue as people come back to work. giving you a look at the bay area, the only slowdown is out of tracey for our super commuters. expect the slow speeds. as you travel westbound, fog around highway 1. that is not usually a commuter corridor. everything else is looking good. bay area pediatricians are giving covid-19 shots to kids. this is part of the next to expand vaccination efforts. in larkspur, a pediatrics is offering the vaccine, one of the first in the bay area. recently, most kids had been getting vaccine shots at clinics run by large health systems or county health departments. pfizer's vaccine is authorized to kids as young as 12. moderna's may soon follow. the minimum age is expected to drop gradually to 5 and then 2 and then potentially to babies as young as 6 months. i'm excited to say hamilton

seven people charged in a fentanyl bust in the bay area are scheduled to be in court today. more than 40 pounds of fentanyl was seized from two suspected stash houses in oakland and san leandro last month along with $30,000 in cash. six people from the east bay were taken infoocustody during this operation along with one person from oregon. the chp is asking for help finding an 81-year-old grandmother, jean canfungleft her home for a walk on friday. she was last seen at the marina and fill more street. she was wearing a pink jacket and ugg boots. an alert is in effect for several counties. this morning through the

it is 5:24. here are seven things to know this morning. we are expecting to get more information today on the deadly police shooting in san jose. it happened late monday night. last night protesters marched through san jose demanding justice. investigators are saying that the suspect pointed a gun at officers. number two, we are getting a first look at body camera video from last week's shooting at the bta railyard mass shooting. it shows a team of deputies responding as gun shots go off. nine people were killed in the attack by their coworker. every denny's restaurant in santa clara county are raising money for the shooting victims. they are donating 50% of

westbound. if you are goingds tay tge plazi clear there but what we typically see is the lights will come on earlier because the traffic in emeryville will make it to the toll plaza. ac transit is reducing distancing requirements starting monday. passengers will only need to stay three feet apart instead of six. it means increased capacity for buses. facemasks are still required. vta and san francisco bay ferry made the same move last week. i do want to note, vta light rail service as well as this unplugged device is protecting our beautiful coastlines and more. put off chores and use less energy from 4 to 9 pm to help keep our state golden.

today. julissa aguilar has been advocating for her family to stay together. her father completed a two year drug conviction when he was in his 20s and to this day, it follows him. >> we are continuously on edge, not knowing what is happening, having to fight for more things for him and for our family. for our family, it feels lightning a battle i'm trying to fight for something he did before i was even born. i will have to continue to fight for it probably the rest of my life so i can have a father in my life. >> last week the aguilar family made an appeal asking governor newsom to pardon hugo and extend his stay in the u.s.. the appeal was denied. the governor's office did not make a statement but they said they assure that each application receives careful

consideration. a 90-year-old woman talked with us about being the brazen target of a theft. someone toll her stuff while she was moving out of an apartment building. she was sitting on a box of had her stuff and waiting for her family on the curb when a woman drove up and silently started loading at least three of her boxes into had car. and in one box was a chinese english dictionary. she and her fellow professors worked with it for 14 years in china and she says she used it to teach young people english. >> i didn't think something like this happen suddenly, you see. my husband is passed away. everything, the books, the photos, everything that's very precious to me. >> a neighbor who tried to help was knocked to the

developing news this morning, china has reported had the first human case of the h10 bird flu. this is video of the announcement on chinese television. the government says a 41-year-old man contracted the strain but the risk of spread is low. that man was hospitalized on april 28th but wasn't diagnosed until last week. chinese officials say no other cases have been found. they did not say how the man was infected but he is in stable condition. the country continues to emerge from the pandemic but there is a sobering reminder of the road ahead for some patients, the long haulers. new data from stanford finds a staggering 70% of patients hospitalized with moderate to severe disease still suffer from a variety of symptoms, months after recovering from the
