crimes this year. that is up from a total of nine crimes for all of last year when hate crime against the black community were the most prevalent. so far this year 18% of hate crimes, a total of five targeted the black community followed by four anti-jewish crimes. the city reports a total of 28 hate crimes as of last friday. that number was 48 for all of last year. a group gathered in san francisco today to rally for justice in memory of shawn. the 22-year-old was killed one year ago by vallejo police outside of a walgreens where there had been looting following a george floyd protest. california attorney general rob's office is conducting a review to determine whether charges should be filed against the officer. his family said they hope new protocols will be established for investigating police shootings. >> there are hundreds of families like ours whose loved

ones were unjustly taken and whose pleas for accountability went unanswered. we hope that our struggle and sacrifice will build a bridge between impacted families and legislators and elected alwayses who have the power to bring justice to our loved ones. >> he was kneeling when he was shot from the back of an unmarked police vehicle. police say the officer thought he had a gun in his pocket but it was a hammer. happening now vice president kamala harris is heading to guatemala to discuss migration issues. abc news reporter ike explains how a technical issue delayed her departure. >> vice president kamala harris giving a thumbs up before switching planes. a technical issue during take off forcing her to turn around before continuing on her trip to guatemala and mexico. she's already met with the leaders of both nations virtually but will now sit down face to face. >> it will be an honest and real

involved in the d-day landings 77 years ago today.
