a major part of building a better bay area is a return to work and what the commute will look like as the bay area starts to reopen its economy. this morning bart is to show signs of pre-pandemic life. we are live with what you can expect today. >> reporter: this is really going to add up. they are going to be adding through friday. that is all starting today. bart officials say it is clear demand is up and they need to respond. they will be their busiest lines, mostly during the commute hours. the blue line, they will still see the 30 minute frequency through august 30. that is the big date when bart says service will look normal again. right now they start back to regular hours. you will only see the trains running from 5:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.

loved uncle. >> i cannot sleep at night. >> reporter: he says his uncle immigrated to the us after fleeing iran during the revolution and was a beacon of pride for their family. >> he wasn't a person there to have an easy time. he worked really hard. it's not the way my family does things. >> reporter: on instagram he shared his favorite memory with his uncle, a photo of them together at the lighthouse in half moon bay. >> to me the trip was so significant. it's like, this is it. seeing my uncle like that with that level of comfort and success, taking me to a lighthouse. i was like how symbolic. we are here. we made it, america, the land of the free. >> reporter: he is now finding it hard to square that feeling

find links to verify gofundme pages and a link to donate. california 1500 reservoirs are 50% lower than what they should be this time of year and it is only expected to get worse. we have a look at just how bad it is getting. >> full some like is one of california's largest reservoirs crucial to providing water to the states 40+ million residents, it has dramatically shrunken. people can normally launch boats, especially during this time of year. as you can see, the levels are so low it takes at least a quarter of a mile to get to the water. relentless heat and dry conditions evaporating the already below average snowpack in the nearby mountains that supply the reservoir. >> if this was the normal time and this like was full, how far underwater would we be? >> right now about 70 feet underwater. >> reporter: 100% of california posing a threat to farmers, the state hydroelectric power

wind advisory. we have one accident to report on north 680 near sycamore valley. apparently four vehicles involved. it is early enough the traffic seems to be getting by. we will check on this when we come back in a couple of minutes. happening now, two wildfires prompting evacuations in eastern arizona. this is about 60 miles east of phoenix near a place called top of the world. the fire broke out friday, scorching 41,000 acres. there is also another, more than 49,000 acres of bird near the city globe. a south bay church draws a protest and is not the first time. plus a man's world record mission cut short. new video of a dramatic kayak rescue. one in the usa, an update

the san jose church that defied public health orders earlier in the pandemic is facing backlash. the church anti-game leader. according to the chronicle about 30 people protested yesterday. tony perkins leads the national family research council, a group the southern poverty law center has named a anti-lgbt hate center. protesters say they wanted to highlight far right organization spreading misinformation and lies about where people. on the peninsula the san mateo there celebrated the lgbt q plus committee with family pride day. the aids memorial quilt was also on display in the expo hall. last nights free concert featuring queen tribute band. the fair is closed today and tomorrow and reopens wednesday.

firefighters were called to the american river parkway just before 3:00 yesterday. the fire grew to 125 acres and spread slowly due to lack of strong wind. firefighters were able to contain the flames. no one was hurt and there have been no reports of damage. there have been multiple fires in this area in the past week. the key was the lack of winds. we definitely have some winds coming our way. that will heighten our fire danger as we head through noon. the wind advisory will be high. is not going to cause red flag warnings. you definitely want to be vigilant. you know how dry everything is. let's talk temperatures. low to middle 50s. we are pretty much in the low to middle 50s everywhere until you get to antioch and brentwood.
