500 guns off of oakland street so far this year. the san jose woman accused of killing her seven-year-old son is now in custody. fbi agents arrested the 35-year- old without incident in a denver hotel. her arrest comes 10 days after the body of her her near a trail near las vegas. authorities identified liam's body on sunday but have yet to determine a motive for the killing. being able to have closure and identified liam was very important. now that we are able to make an arrest on this case it is extremely gratifying. police say his father is not a suspect. he told san jose police he had no reason to think his son was in harm's way that he did that become concerned when he couldn't reach rodriguez after she left him a message saying she was leaving on taking their son. rodriguez is awaiting extradition to nevada where she will be formally charged.

turning to the coronavirus pandemic, its impact on our health and building a better bay area. two counties learned they will advance into the least restrictive tier. tier. only sonoma solano and contra costa counties remain in the orange tier. the tier system goes away in a week when california reopens. you can see we are counting down to june 15th, that they coronavirus restrictions will lift statewide. we are tracking california's vaccination progress with our vaccine tracker. 46% of the state's total population is fully vaccinated. 56% have gone at least one shot. pfizer is expanding the clinical trials for children ages 5-11. people at dns 12 can vaccinated. luz pena is a part of our vaccine team and spoke to local doctors leading the study in the bay area.

>> pfizer's trial is focused on examining antibody response to the vaccine and verifying if a lower dosage produces enough immunity. children 5-11 years old will be injected with 10 micrograms in each dose as opposed to 30 micrograms those 12 and older received. >> we are hoping to enroll enough children take it safety data and antibody response data in the next couple of weeks that we can bring second dose is in and submit this information to the fda by the fall. >> dr. maldonado ismaldonado is principal investigator at stanford university school of medicine for the pfizer trial. >> are there any concerns when it comes to vaccinating children as young as five mac? >> you are not seeing any major safety concerns. we know these vaccines do not cause cellular or dna damage which is one of the areas people have been talking about. that is not happening.

rates starting this summer. drought surcharges are also possible. laura anthony will explain what this could cost you.cost you.coo in the north bay the city of sonoma declared a stage one water shortage. it is asking people to reduce water use by 50%. it is not requiring them to get. sonoma and mendocino were the first counties where the governor proclaimed a drought emergency that was back in april. made the announcement in a dry lake bed that should have been 40 feet underwater. in may he expanded the emergency proclamation to most of the state and last month marin county declared a local drought emergency. it didn't get much rain this winter and reservoir that levels are low. and the south bay 2 million people could be impacted by a water shortage emergency in santa clara county. valley water district board met a few hours ago and people brought up concerns. >> just really engaging in our code of programs to produce water use.

>> the board will ask the county to declare a local emergency. people and businesses could be told to cut back or potentially face fines. the district wants to drop water use by 50% from 2019 levels. another public hearing will be held tomorrow. now we come back to the east bay 1.4 million east bay mud customers could soon have to pay more for water. and is actually not due to the drought. is our long planned hikes. the district is watching the water supply very closely. laura anthony has the story. those who rely on east bay mud can expect to see a surgeon there water bills next month. that is thanks to a percent rate hike. as a part of an infrastructure improvement plan separate. the district plans an additional 4% rate increase next year. >> we projected 5% when we had

been looking two years ago. we are down but we are still moving forward with plans for infrastructure replacement. we will continue to make sure we are doing the right thing to be here for the next 100 years. the 4% the summer means an average water customer will see their bill increase by about two dollars cents per month. in the meantime east bay mud officials are keeping a close eye on their dwindling reservoir. the main storage is relatively full but below average for this time of the year. >> 91% of capacity but what is happening we are at the end of the runoff for the season. normally we would have snowmelt june and july. >> other east bay reservoirs are also below averagebelow avee like the districts overall storage. >> despite the storage being 65% of capacity, east bay mud has no plans to impose a drought surcharge. >> we are currently in a stage

it is under clear skies. a byproduct of the windy pattern is that we have good air quality. for tomorrow and thursday the air will be nice and clean. let's move along and take a look at some current temperature readings. 58 in the city. in mountain view 65. 65 at san jose. 57 a half moon bay. here in from emily biehl looking toward golden gate. we expect a few patches of low clouds to form doing the overnight hours. temperature readings in the north they are fairly uniform. mid-60s in santa rosa, novato and napa. 68 in fairfield. livermore 63. across the breezy embarcadebreee we see the flags flapping in the breeze. these are the forecast features. we will have chilly mornings the next few days. breezy and cold tomorrow afternoon. the warming begins at the end of the week. >> here is the forecast animation taking us through the overnight hours. we will see a band of high clouds sweeping to the bay area during the late night and overnight hours. the morning commute gets underway. the band of high clouds will have moved out but there will be patches of low clouds.

they will disappear giving us a mainly sunny day by by by by by it will be sunny throughout the day into the evening hours. let's take a look at overnight low temperatures. generally upper 40s to about 50 degrees. a little chillier in the father northern locations. santa rosa 42. it is going to be a chilly morning but not much of a warm- up in the afternoon in the south bay. look at for the most part. 68 at san jose. you can find 70 degrees that morgan hill and gilroy. on the peninsula highs will be in the fairly uniform range. 65 palo alto.palo alto.palo alt. breezy and cold with highs in the upper 50s. downtown san francisco a high of 61 degrees. in the north a mid to upper 60s. 67 in sonoma. east bay shoreline 63. it will warm up to upper 60s to about 70 degrees.

a part of our focus on building a better bay area is on education and it has been a big challenge because of the pandemic. to spending 15 months apart during the pandemic high school seniors in oakland were finally able to come together as a class for the graduation ceremony. we captured this bittersweet moment of hellos and goodbyes for our ongoing series mac, a pandemic school story. graduation will really be special this year. not a lot of the students have seen each other since their junior year. there is going to be almost like a reunion of coming

together. also kind of a parting of ways. this will be the first time and maybe the last time the students will be together like this. >> we haven't seen each other in over a year. i really miss these guys. having a day like this in is a very great thing. i am glad i get to see these guys one more time. >> this is my first time seeing the seniors. it was my first and last time unfortunately. they all look good. everyone had beautiful glow ups. y'all are all beautiful people. it is very important for the students. this is their culminating event of a very atypical high school career. we're here on the sidelines hoping we can hear the cheers
