walnut creek. what's going on? >> reporter: good morning. osha got a dose of frustration for businesses last night with people telling osha they are so tired of the confusion over masks and what to do. in the office place, the cal osha board met last night, a week after putting a controversial rule in place and they reversed themselves last night after receiving strong pushback. the board had world that if one person in the office is not vaccinated, then everyone would have to wear a mask. this is what they heard last night about the rule. >> i am really concerned that we have a regulation that will pit workers against each other. >> do not make business owners monitor vaccination status. >> the pandemic is not over so we will be taking away some of the guardrails. >> reporter: they tossed out

that were last night and said they still need to come up with the guidelines for masks at work, but businesses are asking governor newsom to step in and issue an executive order for the state to follow at the office so there is a uniform rule so everyone can be on the same place next week. the board will meet again next week to discuss this. they are set to meet next thursday. the sedate will reopen on tuesday. there is i hope that the governor will clear all of this up. osha appointed a subcommittee to study the issue of masks at work. live, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. today the president is expected to make a major announcement in the global fight against covid-19 . jovita fortin at the live desk. >> reporter: the u.s. is sitting on a vaccine surplus and pressure is mounting to share with the world. today the president will announce a plan

to buy 500 million doses and distribute to 100 lower income countries. the vaccines will start shipping in august. 200 million doses will be delivered by the end of this year. the remaining 300 million will be delivered in the first half of next year. white house press secretary talked to gma about the effort. >> this is a reflection of the fact that the u.s. is vaccinating more americans than any other country in the world and we are in a position where we can contribute in a big way, more than anyther country, to the global effort to take on the pandemic. >> pfizer will make the vaccines at four u.s. facilities. the donations will go to the kovacs global vaccine program led by the w.h.o. president biden will make the announcement today from his first foreign trip as president. some bay area businesses have announce policy changes in

they are calling for mandatory 15% reduction in water use compared to 2019 levels. it will be up to cities and private water companies to decide about the cuts but the rules could include cutting back on watering and filling swimming pools or banning home car washing. >> we are in a very serious situation, way worse than last time, especially since half the storage is gone and the amount of water coming in the county is a trickle. >> the move could lead to higher water rates. california's drought conditions mean that wildfire season this year will likely start sooner. that is from a pg&e official who spoke with the sacramento bee. one concern is vegetation drying out more quickly than normal. pg&e said it is preparing for wildfire season and is doing this week's before it usually does and has practiced for power shutoffs. cal fire is preparing for what could be an unprecedented

this is the california wildfire season. last year was a record one and we are well ahead of that pace. six times ahead of it but we had the three really significant fires and hoping we don't have to deal with that again this year. the computer wants to stay on that so i will walk over and see if i can kick it into gear. here we go. there we go. temperatures down in the south bay in the mid-40s to around 50 in san jose and milpitas. mid 40s to the mid-50s, a lot like yesterday. you can see the clouds are trying to make a late entrance into the bay looking from the exploratory him back to the financial district. temperatures will warm a little bit mid-70s at 4:00. 68 around the bay and 58 at the coast but it will be cool with 50s and 60s by 7:00.
