fire tears through a vallejo neighborhood. more on the woman that was taken to the emergency room. santa clara county's dr. sarah cody was the first in the country to order a lock down. how she's feeling today as the state reopens. blistering heat and high fire danger ahead. temperatures and warnings coming up. abc 7 news at 11:00 starts right now. just tons of smoke up high and i start to see the flames. so yeah, it was really scary. developing news evacuation orders have been lifted after a

brush fire burned several homes in vallejo. >> flames broke out just before 5:30 off skyline drive near six flags discovery kingdom. abc 7 j.r. stone, residents desperately tried to save their homes tonight. >> well they certainly did dan. i can tell you i spoke to the fire chief within the last 10 minute, he tells me the woman taken to the hospital is still in the hospital tonight suffering from smoke inhalation. but the good news there is that she still is alive. she is alive at this point. now i want to step out of the way because you can see the crews out here this evening, the damage is extensive after quite an afternoon. >> a man using a garden hose frankicly trying to save his vallejo property tuesday night. seconds later that man can be seen dropping his hose and running to create a ditch or fire line one of the many neighbors who did what they could to try to save their

homes from these flames. >> it was coming up and over the railing of the house. so i went ahead and grabbed the water hose and started spraying the home. my neighbor was doing the same thing. >> reporter: multiple acres burned on this is is is is is hillside. and multiple homes were damaged. the woman living in home has to be taken to the hospital more smoke inhalation. wind created all sorts of problems. damaged homes weren't just along the hillside. >> my husband did real little well. because he saved their house. because the flames were coming up in the yard. >> waited for all the trucks to come in and made sure we got

all the smoke and smell out of it for her. >> and back out here live this evening -rpbgs , you can see the crews that are still out here. the crews are outside the home of where that woman was injured and where she was taken to the hospital early. but again she is in the hospital and is alive tonight. just suffering from that smoke inhalation. a number of neighbors complained to me saying this fire started in an area where the brush has not been cut back. they're very upset with that private property owner who lives directly behind this area. reporting live in vallejo, jr stone. >> concern for everyone. jr, thank you. conditions will only get more difficult for firefighters. the national weather service tweeted this, dangerous heat is about to grip the bay area. when will these triple digit temperatures blanket the bay

area? >> let's check in with sandhya patel who's watching that tonight for us. >> dan and ama that's going to begin tomorrow. that triple digit heat will extend across our area. it's going to be dangerous. risk of heat illnesses. heat advisory is 11:00 a.m. tomorrow until 11:00 a.m. thursday. mid-90s to low 100s. covering a big part of the bay area. we have an excessive heat warning going up and that's with good reason. upper 90s to 108 degrees. heat advisory will remain for parts of the bay area and when you take a look at the hour by hour forecast, triple digits showing up tomorrow afternoon evening. it's only going to get hotter. look at thursday's highs. we're talking about 109 degrees in fairfield. i'll be back with a closer look at the forecast on this intense heat ahead. ama, dan. we're going to come back
