san francisco we have one, this is westbound 80 past ninth street, blocking at least one lane and a motorcycle crash further north of that this is on westbound >> three people are dead, five others hurt, after a shooting at a father's day party in richmond. police say they got called to a home just before 11:00 on dunn avenue near 20th. matt boone is live in the newsroom with what we know . >> good morning, kumasi, it's a very residential area, this happened in a house just before 11:00 last night. we have video from the scene showing a large group of people crowding along the police line as they begin their investigation. we have learned this morning that a total of eight people were shot, two people pronounced dead last night but police say another person has also died. one more remains in critical condition. one of the victims family members said this is what is

>> is there an active shooter in the yard? >> yes . >> i'm coming in the yard, i'm arms . >> investigators say the victims appeared to be by the gunmen but no motive has been released. the shooter, 57-year-old samuel cassidy died by suicide as he was confronted by police. he's been described as an angry and disgruntled employee . the cdc said a more contagious delta variant is now responsible for 10% of new cases here in the us. california is one of at least 45 states where it's now detected. the state department of public health is reporting 349 cases of the variant in california. it also, we are on pace to come up short of president biden's goal of getting kidding 70% of american adults vaccinated with

at least one dose by july 4. currently about 53% of had a single dose. california has administered more than 40 million vaccinations. health officials say those being hospitalized for covid-19 complications have one thing in common. they are unvaccinated, and experts are blaming vaccine hesitancy. health experts fear the summer could be extremely dangerous for people who haven't gotten the vaccine yet especially as life in many states including here in california is returning back to normal and the more contagious variance spread across the country . >> i think the summertime is when we could see the emergence of two covid nations, that's the big worry, we will see this big disparity between north and south. >> so look at this map, the dark blue shows parts of the country with the lowest vaccination rates and you can see that's large south and even counties here in california . majority of counties in california are not sharing information about covid-19 outbreaks in workplaces. that's according to an

tropical storm, and after leaving at least 13 people dead over the weekend, it is barreling through the carolinas. the storm has already reached havoc across alabama at least 50 homes, look at all of that flooding. here's a look at the latest radar, you can see the spinning counterclockwise nature as it's moving across of north carolina, and just south of norfolk, and it is moving out, so the next 36 hours, it's going to become more of a fish storm if you will, we like to call, also going to create dangerous surf along the east coast. at home, we've got the nice breeze coming in through the golden gate and most of our neighborhoods because the marine layer airs up around 2000 feet which makes its going to all of our neighborhoods, a little spotty drizzle in san francisco and spotty drizzle in the east bay hill, 60 in union city, 60 in tracy.

new development this morning about a deadly crash at a pride parade in south florida. police say it was not intentional. one member of a men's chorus group was killed, another injured after they were hit by a truck.

the coast but look, as we had into the evening hours, it's making a quick return back to all of our neighborhoods for a very comfortable night tonight and even cooler weather tomorrow. 79 at san jose, 83 in gilroy, did you see the 66 in santa cruz, that's because of the southerly wind coming off the moderate bay. low to mid 60s along the coast, along the north they coast, to mid 60s, 71 and vallejo but then mid 70s to mere 80s for most of the north bay valleys from cloverdale north, we are talking about mid 80s to 90. along the east bay, richmond and berkeley, 68 and 69, other neighborhoods, 70 to 78 degrees. as you head into the east bay valleys, we are looking at 80 as the cool spot in walnut creek. look at all the cloud cover, that is more patchy drizzle for tomorrow's morning commute. so temperatures continue to tumble below average through at

low to mid 60s, having bay to san francisco, 79 in san jose, 75 in santa rosa and mid 80s inland. checking in on traffic because the bay bridge has been our problems but long because of crashes in san francisco, the positive update is the first crash has cleared on westbound 80 passed ninth street, the motorcycle crash on westbound 80 past harrison street is still there. bringing you alive picture now of the bay bridge, look at that, so much better, if you are with us 30 minutes ago, it was 29 minutes, that was the time from the toll plaza to the bay bridge, it's dropped to 15 minutes, metering lights came on early but it's a domino effect because the toll plaza is packed and so is emeryville, traffic is backed up to berkeley. speeds are under 20 miles per hour her people traveling westbound, i will show you what the toll plaza looks like it my next update . this morning one person killed, six people injured at a mass shooting at oakland lake

merritt on saturday, we are up to 10,000 people gathered. police are offering up to $40,000 for information leading to an arrest. good morning, matt. >> good morning, julian, the shooting has struck a chord in the community, given how many people were in the area when the shots were fired. this happened on lakeside avenue saturday evening, video shows people running away, as they heard the gunshots. police say one man was killed, six others were shot, witnesses tell abc 7 the gunshots created chaos, as people fled for cover. >> what did you do? >> [ bleep ] i duct. i crawled by a shade structure. people trampled over me. it was crazy. >> i heard about 30 gunshots. >>

expected, police had stationed extra resources, because of this they were able to act quickly and they saw two men with guns running away from the scene. they were both arrested but police have not said if they believe they are the shooters. this happened on the same day as the juneteenth celebration. but those were centered about a mile away in a different part of the lake and police say these were not related. police are offering a $40,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. members are inviting the community to come to lake merritt for a vigil tomorrow night at 6:00. the city council president and councilmembers recorded a message last night offering their condolences to the victims families. >> we wanted to come together to show support for the families of the victims, for the community, and recommit ourselves to creating a safe oakland . >> we know if we are relying on the police alone that's not enough and we have to do so much more. >> the issued a statement

small craft advisory, but mass transit is cool but comfortable this afternoon. here's the forecast i was talking about, we are green, that could be the marine layer undercutting it and keeping the smoke away from us but if it gets into that marine layer, we are in trouble. mid to upper 50s on the peninsula, temperatures in the main 50s, this morning because of the cloud cover. as we head throughout the day, we will stay in the 60s at the coast, 70 to 70 with increasing sunshine, and 78 to 82, that is going to feel fantastic compared to what we've been through, and we will be back in the 70s as we head into the evening hours. the bay bridge has really been our problem spot all morning

coming in on westbound 80 before the 880 split, so right as people are making their way toward the toll plaza, running into that problem, we still have a motorcycle crash past harrison street and look at the impact, emeryville is at a crawl right now, westbound traffic is still backed up, past emeryville so heads up to you if you are coming from that direction. because of these earlier crashes, the metering came on early, at 5:38, so it'll take about 50 minutes to get from the toll plaza across the bridge, and that's once you make it through the metering lights. a major update on the tokyo olympics, what we just learned about the games, now just a month away . the air travel staffing trouble, the crisis, canceling flights for one of the nation's biggest carriers. what it might mean for your summer vacation . the new york stock exchange is up by about 270 points, another update in the markets, next . a

the u.s. has extended nonessential travel restrictions at land border crossings with canada and mexico through july 21. canada extended its own restrictions on friday. officials do say there have been positive developments with some of the restrictions may be safely east. air travel is slowly rebounding as more folks return to the air. they are finding out the travel industry is slowly healing after the year of the pandemic. the furloughs, layoffs and the setbacks that came with that. we want to check out these long lines right here. this is his weekend. travelers are finding themselves in lines this long all over the airport to do anything, by a cup of coffee in the morning, go through the tsa check point. a lot of that has to do with
