and mass shootings in oakland and richland. abrbc reporter is joining us live from the police station. >> good morning. lamont armstrong has been invited to virtually attend a meeting with president biden ahead of this announcement later this afternoon, and of course, as you mentioned, it comes after a weekend of violence across the bay area. including in oakland where eight people were shot, and one of them died in a combining related shooting. a day later in richmond, three killed and five others injured at a shooting at a house party. the oakland city counsel is nearing the end to finalize the budget for the next two years, and that could include the cuts from the mayor's proposal to fund a team of social workers and medical personnel to respond to nonviolent calls. chief armstrong says that he is hoping that oakland is going to obtain

oakland. now, to the pandemic. 18 cases of a delta variant have been detected in sonoma county. the delta strain accounts for 7% of the 265 coronavirus variants detected in sonoma county. the numbers are a reminder that the pandemic is not over yet. morene county hit aids big milestone in the vaccine efforts. the county human services say that 90% have received one dose of the covid vaccine. that's more than 200,000 people. 82% have received the full dosage. dopeing news, better weather is helping to develop the battle. the fire is burning in a remote and inaccessible inaccs portion. crews were able to improve the lines around the fire in preparation for hotter and drier weather this weekend. the u.s. is expecting a
