2020 fire season was the most destructive in the states history. experts say 2021 could be even worse. firefighters in the golden state are leading the way when it comes to innovating ways to protect their communities from wildfires. >> for years and years we always looked back to the fires of 1910 as being the big --. really it was the start of how we started fighting fires. last year was the first year we actually clipped the amount of acreage since 1910. >> this has been california's worst fire season ever. 4 million acres burned. that is an area as big as connecticut. >> 2020 was california's worst fire season on record. nearly 10,000 fires burned 4
