0001 you're watching abc news at 11:00. let's get right to our meteorologist for more on tomorrow's forecast, and the weather concerns that are still out there. >> i do want to emphasize that the risk for lightning tomorrow is nowhere near like the storms we experienced last august. we saw thousands of lightning strikes. that last august was one in a lifetime. tomorrow there is a chance of a thunderstorm moving through parts of central and northern california. moisture rotating around that high. you could see some developing around southern california. and that energy is going to the north over the next 24 hours. and there is a threat that a thunderstorm could develop. a red flag warning will begin tomorrow evening. and this

aftering is for that lightning threat and red flag warning is for that lightning. a forest fire burning 20 miles south of lake tahoe is forcing mandatory evacuations tonight. the fire has burned more than 21,000 acres and 0% contained. matt boone has more on how weather account impact the fire fight. >> reporter: the growing fire forced the evacuations of several communities. sparked by lightning on the 4th of july, the fire has been fueled by the dry vegetation. with the forecast and lightning event this weekend, fire crews say it's all hands on deck. >> all of our personnel are held on duty. everybody from the firefighter ring, the battalion chief ring is on duty every single day.

protection. but many areas of the state remain dry. >> we're also in a prolonged drought this year. fuels are receptive. there is a good chance that should there be lightning chances in the area, a fire could start. >> there are currently a dozen fires burning across the state. we'll have more. developing news out of washington dc where a shooting just outside of national park caused chaos in tonight's baseball game. it happened in front of a sold-out crowd. gunshots rang out, sending fans fleeing for cover. >> some hopped over the seats and into the bullpen. the players ran from the bullpen into the locker room. and throngs of other fans fled from the concourse.

three people were shot, including a fanut the shooting started. they asked fans to stay in their seats for their own safety. >> he ran into the stadium. which freaked out a lot of individuals. caused a lot of chaos and panic. and people rushed back inside. they didn't know what was happening. >> tense moments there. fans were able to safely leave the stadium once police secured the perimeter. officers believe the incident was a shootout and the fan was hit in the driver. she is expected to know okay. one car has been recovered. the game between the nationals and the padres was halted. it will resume tomorrow afternoon.

violence directed at vulnerable seniors just keeps on coming in oakland's combine town. and the neighborhood that does not have its own own own surviles cameras. there's a grassroots effort underway to buy such a system. >> reporter: after another week of violent attacks, there is an effort to make them safer for everyone. it's a popup market that's also a fundraiser. part of a grassroots effort to raise $75,000 to buy a surveillance system for a neighborhood now served by cameras owned by local business owners. >> i don't know what it is.
