>> reporter: do you worry somebody's life could be in danger this weekend? >> absolutely. this neighborhood pays taxes to have a fire station right here. now with no fire engine the response will be coming from further away. that is always dangerous. >> reporter: we did get a statement from an oakland fire department spokesperson. the unexpected closure of state 25 is frustrating and concerning. the department is working diligently to fix the issues that need to be corrected, while ensuring we meet our mandated response times. according to the oakland firefighters union, the water heater is one of the things that needs to be fixed. they say there are deferred maintenance and broken issues throughout the city. to developing news now in

the sierra, where a wildfire has forced the closure of 26 miles of the pacific coast trail. national forest officials monitoring the tamarack fire and are concerned about erratic winds and lightning. the fire was sparked by lightning on july 4th. you can see in the video shows the inferno that has been fueled by strong winds. there is zero containment. firefighters are making some progress against the dixie fire in butte county, but have issued an evacuation warning for some areas tonight. cal fire says several containment lines are holding. the fire, now 15% under control. flames have scorched more than 15,000 acres. this cal fire video shows an air tanker dropping fire retardant. a wildfire is near the burns part of the 2018 camp fire.

moisture or lightning. the wider picture, you do notice as you move towards the central valley and east of fresno, we have had a couple of lightning strikes over the past hour or so. the ingredients in our atmosphere are there. we are zooming into lake tahoe where we did have several lightning strikes was the tamarac fire. we are watching that very closely. it looks like a lightning over the past hour has diminished. this is the risk we have, because of the moisture moving in from the south. watching the line move in, and following up our. we are we watching off the coastline right now, more instability. live doppler and satellite will check this north as well, and continue the risk overnight and first thing tomorrow morning. we are tracking a warm day away from the coast, 91 in brentwood, 94 in concord, around the bay shoreline a little bit cooler, but still

warm. 60s and 70s for a lot of us. 78 at santa rosa, but 55 and half moon bay. here is the red flag warning that it continues to have a linked areas ad in red. any isolated lightning strike could potentially start new fires. this is where we will see the highest threat, lately tomorrow morning. you don't see any colors popping up around the bay area. as you get to the later morning were closer to lunch time you do notice this risk, a very low risk of a lightning strike, but the risk is there as it moves northward into the tray area. we will track that between 8:00 a.m. and noon tomorrow. it would be the highest chance we would see any isolated lightning. after lunch time that fred is out of your. tomorrow afternoon and evening, any lightning, that threat is diminishing greatly. we will end the day on a positive note. overnight temperatures mainly in the mid to upper 50s.
