[ cheers and applause ] i have been watching, yes. that is my brother, and we've known each other since my junior year in high school. his sophomore year. we actually met for the first time when we were in eighth we've been friends ever since. >> arsenio: yeah, and we hear and read that you all are friends. but it's deeper than i realized. he was at the hospital for the birth of one of your children. >> yeah. he was at the hospital for the birth of my second child, my second son, bryce maximus. and it happened to be during the nba finals then. >> arsenio: wow, yeah. >> so he's the godfather of bryce. and bryce came out the night before. and then i went on to proceed to get my ass kicked by the spurs the next day. [ laughter ] so it was no sleep for me then.

>> arsenio: yes. the legendary coach of the spurs is having some problems with this international olympics situation. i know these are preliminary games, but what's your opinion on all that? >> i think they'll figure it out. a little bit early. but you know, just adjusting. you know, you've been playing the nba game for seven, eight, nine months and then have to go to the international game, it's a lot different. so it takes a few games to get into it. but popp, you know, he's all about winning and he's definitely not about no disrespect when it comes to him and his players. popp going to always stick up for them. >> arsenio: what's the biggest difference? if you were coaching them, what's the first thing you say about the international game that's different than our game? >> well, you've got to play with the pass a lot more. in our game we do a lot of isolation. because we have those isolation basketball players, the great guys that can do it off the bounce, create shots of their own. but the international game they do it a lot more with the pass,

with the mind. you've got to be able to adjust to that really quickly. and also you can also do some things, you can take the ball off the rim. the goaltending. you know, if the ball's sitting around the rim you can actually smack it off the rim, which you can't do in our game. so that's an adjustment period as well. i think our guys, they'll adjust quickly. >> arsenio: you mentioned the word passing. my friend can pass, magic johnson. your friend chris paul can pass. i was very upset when the nba, i don't know the technicalities, but they kind of blocked chris paul coming here -- >> they like vetoed the trade to come -- i've never seen that. in nba history. and i was excited as heck for c.p. i thought the lakers faithful was excited to get him. and then you know, they just -- they vetoed it. but it's working out for him right now, i'll tell you. years later it's working out for him. >> arsenio: could it still happen? and would you like it to still happen? [ cheers and applause ] wait, wait, wait. no, no. i know why you're laughing. because that would be tampering or something, right, if i talk about that?

look like? >> i thought that it would look like -- exactly like the jack kirby illustrations from the 1960s and the costume design said i would be in the full muscle suit like in the '60s. then i got there, and i said where's my muscle suit? and there was none. and i can see, arsenio, we share the same physique type. we're muscle-free zones. i said, where's the muscle suit? i look like kermit the frog if i'm not wearing the muscles. anyway. what can i tell you? you're in pink, you're 65, i'm 64, we're the dinosaurs of show business, baby. >> arsenio: yes, yes. [ cheers and applause ] >> and we're still here! >> arsenio: and you're a tall dinosaur. didn't somebody tell you at a young age that tall actors don't work much? >> yeah. everybody said that you have to be either tom cruise height or sylvester stallone, that you'd never make it. and i said what about john wayne and clint eastwood and, you

know, magic johnson? those guys. they're all tall. and they said no, you have no chance. anyway, i proved them wrong. i'm still here. >> arsenio: yes. [ applause ] yes, you are. by the way, that wardrobe in the clip, did you keep that? >> yes, of course. i've got it on right now. i'm wearing my green tights. you can't see them but they're on right now. >> arsenio: those would be cool pajamas. i hope you really did keep it. >> no. >> arsenio: now, where -- where are you right now? >> i am sitting in an old-age home, where i belong. no, i'm in a corner of my house. i'm just sitting in a chair that, you know, keeps you upright at my age. >> arsenio: yes. and what's next for you? are you working on something else there? >> i have just wrapped today on a netflix version of jane austen's "persuasion" with dakota johnson and cosma jarvis.

[ cheers and applause ] >> arsenio: cool, cool. when are you coming back here to visit? >> when i'm allowed out of the high-security old age home i'm in at the moment. [ laughter ] because -- because of the restrictions of what you can and you can't talk about in loki-land, i'm -- i'll be tasered if i leave this room and reveal any secrets of this show. >> arsenio: yeah, because you know, this is kind of a hard interview to do. because i've been told so many things that i can't ask you. >> yeah. >> arsenio: as a matter of fact, i did "coming to america 2" in atlanta, and there was some marvel people down there. they're pretty strict on you guys, huh? >> oh, yes. have you still got the tags around your ankles? [ laughter ] > arsenio: i've seen them, i've seen them. >> i've got mine. >> arsenio: they make you sign stuff? >> they make you sign stuff, they put special implants underneath your skin. it's a whole deal. but i had a dress rehearsal. i was in a film you may have heard of a couple of years ago called "star wars: the rise of luke skywalker." that one. [ cheers and applause ] and there you have to be under fort knox level of security. you couldn't say anything -- i wouldn't even tell my wife and daughter the name of the character that i was playing for fear that they would take my saary away or remove my kneecaps. [ laughter ] i thought i'd keep the money and the kneecaps. >> arsenio: what time is it there? >> it is 10 to 1:00 in the morning. >> arsenio: it's really late. what are you going to do after the interview? are you going clubbing? what are you doing later? >> i'm going to pull on my full green tights outfit and i'm going to go boogie. say "boogie." >> boogie. >> arsenio: yes. when is the last time you danced? when is the last time you've been out dancing? >> just before i sat down to speak to you now. i dance all the time. >> arsenio: you and i have a lot in common. i am also a barbra streisand freak. [ cheers and applause ] >> yes! >> arsenio: but you're a little bigger than me. >> i agree. [ laughter ] >> arsenio: yeah. tell them. i have a picture i want to show them. you tell them a little bit about her. >> okay. so i have been -- i have been a fan, a dedicated fan, of barbra streisand for 50 years. and so i met her a couple of years ago. and -- when i was working in philadelphia. and i got up to -- somebody invited me. anyway, i end up in the hamptons at a party that she was at. i had a one-to-one conversation with her for two hours, so 1:00 in the morning. and i told her that i had

commissioned a sculpture that would be 3 foot tall, almost a meter tall, of her head for my yard, my garden. and she said, no, you're crazy. i said, yeah, i know i'm crazy. she said, "you are crazy." i said, "i stand happily so." [ cheers and applause ] every day i see her. >> arsenio: now, this is none of my business, but i think -- in my research i found out you have two homes? >> i do. but i'm so rich. [ laughter ] >> arsenio: does your -- >> like you. >> arsenio: -- streisand travel to the different homes? >> no, i have the original sculpted one in my yard, at the bottom of the yard. when i look out the windows, there she is every day, all day long, all night long. and in this cottage that i've got in the countryside, the sculptor had made a facsimile of it in fiberglass. and i said, what's happening to that one? because i'd paid for it. he said, oh, it will just be trashed. and i said, no, no, no, no.
