>> i heard this loud bang in the middle of the parking lot. my mom got under the table, and i kind of just like held her in my arms. ca likys as dangerous ndswirled. a car al the entire roof peeled back as powerful winds stripped the building to the studs. >> oh, my gosh. they lost their whole entire insides. >> i've been doing this for 34 years. i never saw that kind of devastation, you know, from a storm. >> reporter: that twister, one of three reported in the area thursday. two others reported within minutes of each other. >> this is actually insane. >> reporter: at least five people were hurt amid the storms but officials say none of the injuries are life-threatening. >> we're very fortunate that we had no deaths. >> if the storm would have been two hours earlier, this would be a different report. those places would have been packed with people.

southern california was deliberately set. now one of their own is facing charges. this morning a u.s. sailor is now accused of starting a fire that destroyed the "uss bonhomme richard" in one of the worst noncombat fires seen in the navy. >> we have not seen a fire of this magnitude in a navy ship in recent memory at least in my career. >> reporter: the sailor not identified but in a statement a navy official confirming the sailor quote was a member of the "bonhomme richard's" crew and faces charges of aggravated arson and the willful hazarding of a vessel. on july 12th of 2020 an explosion rocked the "bonhomme richard" as it was docked in san diego for maintenance. more than 400 sailors and firefighters braving smoke inhalation and heat exhaustion as they battled the massive blaze. >> the flames are out but the heat is still there so we're going taste by space in every compartment checking for hot spots. >> reporter: the fire burning for nearly five days leaving 63 people injured. the vessel sustaining major damage with the major

communications tower destroyed and 11 of the ship's 14 decks damaged by either fire or water. estimates for the repair topped $4 billion forcing the navy to scrap the assault ship. and the navy did not release a motive or details on the evidence. a navy spokesperson said that they believe the sailor did not intend on destroying the ship. grubhub is facing a lawsuit accused of overcharging restaurants in the height of the pandemic. the massachusetts attorney general says grubhub violated a temporary 15% cap on fees by charging 18% or more on the price of online orders. she's asking a judge to fine the company $5,000 for each alleged incident. grubhub denies the allegation. some worrisome moments at the international space station. a russian module inadvertently fired its thrusters after docking, and that sparked a spacecraft emergency. they lost altitude for about an hour. communications also shut down. nasa and russia's space agency are running a joint investigation. coming up, draft day in the
