vaccine team, just go to abc 7 news/vaccine. >> and oakland police officer is in the hospital because a suspect shot him in the leg. that officer is expected to be ok. the suspect was shot as well. police got a 911 call at 6:30 about a man acting erratically. they say the suspect shot the officer almost as soon as his partner arrived. >> we became within -- we came within a hair's breadth of losing two police officers today. these officers responded to a citizen's call and they essentially were engaged in a gun battle. i have one officer wounded. >> the 50-year-old suspect ran to an apartment building where a technical team spent hours negotiating with him. during that time, please state the man stabbed himself multiple times and made statements that he wanted officers to kill him. he surrendered and went to the hospital where he was treated for stab wounds and that gunshot wound.

october. >> that is because the state legislature is out of session. the only way the eviction moratorium would be extended is through an executive order from governor newsom. christina collins is a tenants rights attorney. course landlords are getting quite antsy and are anticipating the expiration here. >> there will still be some protections for tenants on september 30. landlords must show that they at least attempted to get rental assistance for their tenants through the emergency rental assistance program. the state spokesperson tells 7 on your side that tenant has 15 days to apply for rental relief once they receive a notice to evict. as long as the application is being reviewed, they cannot be evicted. tenants can now receive 100% of the rent money. that is up from the 80% before june 28. that protection will be in place through march. to qualify, tenants must earn
