says should get a booster shot. those 65 and older. people aged 50-64 who have underlying medical conditions. ama: other groups may get a booster shot who have underlying medical conditions and that increased risk of exposure. dan: counties across california can modify the cdc guidelines as they rollout their plans for booster distribution. a member of our vaccine team has details, and found some first in line were excited about it. reporter: hours after the cdc endorsed pfizer's booster shots, california's department of public health gathered all the officers to explain what the guidelines will be. marin county's public health officer was in the meeting. >> basically our approach in

california will be what the cdc recommended. reporter: counties will have flexibility to modify the criteria. marin county will open vaccination sites at the northgate maugham wednesday, to give boosters to those 75 and older. >> it is a subset at higher of more severe outcomes if they become infected. it may be a few days that we open up to 65 plus. reporter: pharmacies will become some of the main distributors of the vaccine and will follow the cdc guidelines, giving priority to those 65 and older or those with underlying health conditions. this resident make sure he was among the first to get a booster. >> i should bet on the lottery. there was not much luck about it. you go online and make an appointment, sign up, and they

charges against the driver who killed coach greg knapp. the investigation found insufficient evidence to charge the driver that fatally hit knapp while he was riding a bicycle last july. he was a coordinator for the raiders and the 49ers. the da said the dangers of distracted driving are well-known, and motorists need to be attentive drivers. ama: it was nearly a year ago when does dog fire killed four -- zogg fire killed four people. our reporter has been covering pg&e for years. reporter: 11 felony charges and 20 misdemeanors against pg&e filed here in shasta county. those include four homicides, felony involuntary man slaughter

charges, the same charges pg&e faced in the 2018 camp fire. for the families of those who died, this day is about more than one thing. >> someone needs to be held accountable. no family should go through this. reporter: his wife and eight-year-old daughter died in the zogg fire trying to run for their lives. two of their neighbors died in other parts of the community. a press conference announcing the criminal charges against pg&e, the district attorney said pg&e should have prevented this wildfire from happening. pg&e marked an unsafe tree that had fire damage from years ago, and was leaning in the direction of the power line. nobody followed up to cut the tree down. >> it was not an accident, they knew it was there and did not remove it, and people died. reporter: the charges today are

against the pg&e corporation, the same thing after the camp fire. nobody would go to prison if found guilty, but the da shasta county made it clear the investigation is not over. two more years to press charges against people, and it is something they will try to do. ama: pg&e's chief executive issued a statement saying, we have accepted the determination reached earlier this year that a tree contacted our electric line and started the zogg fire. we did not commit a crime. dan: a palo alto woman faces nine years in state prison for allegedly starting the fawn fire in shasta county. russ acute or say the 30-year-old -- prosecutors say the 30 years old was found with a cigarette lighter in her pocket. she may be linked to other

the water is coming up. ama: no word yet from the utility district on when this will be fixed. residents are braced for the water not coming back on until well into the weekend. dan: heads up for anyone traveling through san francisco, caltrans is closing the central freeway ramp connecting westbound 80 and northbound 101. crews will replace a guard rail that was damaged. this will affect to and from the bay bridge. the closure started at 10:00 tonight and is scheduled to run through 5:00 monday morning before the morning commute. ama: pumpkins of the latest product hit hard by supply chain shortages, and prices are soaring.

volunteers and fosters are really necessary. they help us help these animals, and they help us save lives. i discovered my love of dogs when i was about 5 years old. we had a doberman, and he was just the best thing in the world. you know, we were poor, and there was a lot of abuse, and thovie was the one who never showed me that -- he just showed me love. the moment we lost him, it was as if we lost everything. i knew that any animal that would come across my path was meant to be 'cause i knew that thovie was gonna bring them across my path. this is my purpose. i'm trying to leave a footprint. i'm trying to educate. i'm trying to help as many animal lives that i can.

we spay and neuter. we microchip. we vaccinate. whatever issue that they have that we see from the abuse, we address it. these animals are severely abused. but i want everybody to take care of them the way they should be taken care of. [ indistinct conversations ] >> anybody who adopts from us, you're part of our family now. we want you to know that we appreciate you and we love you because you love them the way they should have been loved from the beginning. these wonderful adopters that treat their animals like family, and you see where they came from, and now you see where they're at. it just makes everything worth it in the end, because you see these babies so happy and being so loved. just makes me feel tremendous satisfaction.

♪ >> from rescuing dogs to saving coral reefs, the inspiration continues. ♪ >> i am using a 3d printer to create coral out of calcium carbonate. i work on a lot of creative projects that are trying to take a fresh perspective, perhaps, toward issues we have today. a lot of the coral reefs are going through a very traumatic time. the temperature of the water is rising. they can't simply take the heat. a lot of the way in which they create food for themselves and, also, the way in which they take co2 out of the water to make their skeletons -- they can't do that really well when the temperature has risen so dramatically around them. beyond that, it becomes a more kind of complex or global issue
