jobina: investigators now know how a six-year-old girl died on a ride in a park in colorado. she died at glenwood adventure park. it is a drop ride that goes 110 feet underground. the ride alerted ride operators that the six-year-old was not properly buckled in, but the operators overrode the alert and reset the ride seatbelt monitors which allow them to dispatch the ride. reggie: families across the bay area channeling grief into calls for change on a national day for a members of murder victims. thousands gathered outside of city hall and they said that sure feels more emotional, with a number of homicides happening in the bay area.

one mother's son who was killed seven years ago said she doesn't want anyone else to live in fear. >> every time i hear a homicide that happens, whether oakland or san francisco or any other state, it hits home. >> it is about trying to do what we can to work together as a community, not only and prevent these incidents moving forward. reggie: organizers say having an event is so important to them they they say have her but has to come together. a vigil was held in oakland were more families are now grieving, the most recent homicides happened early yesterday morning . two men ages 21 and 26 were shot and killed. our media partner reports the victims were brothers and they were shot outside their home after getting into a fight with another man. that shooting brings the total number of homicides in oakland
