was going to go until 6:00 this evening. nothing, 11:00 this morning. please be vigilant in the interior mountains of sonoma county in napa county. that is where the fire danger is the greatest. here's look at temperatures, in the 50's this morning, 60's and 70's at noon. 70's and 80's at 4:00 is the heat wave begins. it is going to get hotter in the last several days. i will be back with that seven day forecast. kumasi: across the north bay, firefighters say they are prepared. for many, fire danger is never far from their minds. we have a reporter live with more. good morning. >> firefighters have kept watch all night. here in fairfax, it is very calm. it might not feel like a red flag warning, but it is the weather forecast for up in the hills. gusty wind that they are worried about and keeping an eye on. they could eventually impact

towns like this one. that is why they want everyone to be on alert, because these are the people who will be at risk. fire station said they did before up their staffing when they heard about this red flag warning. they did as much as they could, some fire departments are down some people because they are on the front lines of fires burning right now. while you were sleeping, firefighters here in the bay area were on watch. >> we have additional dispatchers on and staff equipment is necessary is so if we break multiple fires, we are able to respond to all. >> if you have not taken steps to great defensive space around your home, now is the time to get it done. the fire department recently checked out home in san geronimo and gave very specific advice about what to change, all the way down to the welcome mat, recommending of metal or rubber one instead of a natural fiber doormat. they also say you should have your go-bag packed in your

infrastructure package. it would great half a million jobs in rebuild the nation's roads and bridges. vote on that will likely fail, because house progressives want a deal on a separate three point $5 trillion infrastructure package that includes funding to fight climate change in money for early childhood education. >> we take it one step at a time. jobina: it is not just progressives. the white house is also struggling to get moderate democrats kyrsten sinema and joe manchin on board into there is the fight over the debt ceiling. if the government does not act to suspend or increase the limit by october 18, the government will run out of money to pay its bills, and back it's send the economy into a recession and cost thousands of jobs. we don't want to see that. kumasi: major vaccine defined in california today. all health-care workers have to be fully vaccinated or risk losing their jobs. that means they are getting the johnson & ■johnson vaccine,they need to get the one-shot does by the end of today. if it is moderna or pfizer the

need to get their second shot. the mandate applies to hospitals, clinics and doctors offices among other facilities. our news partner mercury news is reporting several major hospital systems across the state say vaccination rates have reached 90% among their employees. in november, this made it will expand to workers in adult and senior care facilities. nursing homes, hospice workers and state facilities that serve people with disabilities. the order allows for religious and medical exemptions. reggie: we are learning of what may happen to san for cisco police officers who refuse to get vaccinated in time for the city's october 13 deadline. the chronicle obtained an internal email from the police department that says officers may be reassigned in the coming weeks read the email says sf pd is doing this to ensure all policing services continue smoothly. after the vaccination deadline. after wednesday i'm about 310 employees have still not gotten the shot. that breaks down to about 270 police officers and 40 staff.

arrest after this wild chase in the east bay. you see it started after a car going the wrong way after a robbery at starbucks. police say the suspect got into a waiting car, took off, eventually going the wrong way on the freeway in oakland. here's our anchor. >> there were two people in the car along with the driver, robbery suspects. sky seven shows you the car driving in circles, hitting at least two other cars. the driver eventually got off at macarthur boulevard in oakland and drove into emeryville using city streets. then come all three people hopped out and started running. police caught one woman knew the abandoned vehicle. a man believed to be the driver surrendered as he was standing on summons porch. police also arrested another woman. abc 7 news was there when police searched the abandoned car and recovered bags of cash. kumasi: that was dan ashley reporting. into something no young student should be having to go through, but is forcing 600 kids to go back to virtual learning.
