there overworked and understaffed to the point that some are going on strike. the ones that remain have to meet a new requirement. >> luz pena is part of the the vaccine team and today she spoke to the white house covid vaccination's coordinator about what they have noticed since the mandate. luz joins us with more on the story. >> more health-care workers are choosing to get vaccinated, influenced by vaccine mandates. hospital staff members had until september 30 to be fully vaccinated. on the one half they have a certainty that workers are protected on on the other they are experiencing shortages. >> hospitals across the state are noticing the impact. >> some chose not to get vaccinated. >> at the san francisco general hospital, there are 115 staff

members who remain off the schedule. decided not to get vaccinated or did not report their vaccination status. dr. chris caldwell vast majority of hospital workers who were hesitant to get vaccinated chose the vaccine. >> it puts a lot of people on the fence in the direction of doing that. it sets a good precedent for what we are about. this is ultimately about patient safety. >> president biden's vaccination plan projects to mandate vaccines for almost one million people. >> if you work for institutions receiving medicaid or medicare funding, cms is working on a rule that would require vaccines for those workers. this cover 17 million workers in this country.

social media outage today. he believes the six-hour outage was caused by a routing issue. multiple social media platforms were impacted by the outage including instagram, whatsapp, and facebook. >> there were only working and there were reports from new york times which indicates that inside a facebook at their headquarters they were not able to access certain systems or even get inside some of the doors. it seems like it was bad all around. >> reports show that tens of thousands of platform users were unable to load new content. facebook sent out a tweet apologizing to the users who depend on the platform. the outage comes one day after a whistleblower came forward to share her story. she claims facebook uses algorithms to amplify hate and to extend user engagement.
