ama: the family of the 15-year-old girl killed in a road rage incident is calling on the community to stop the violence. we sat down with the family and shares their story. reporter: an emotional family of the 15-year-old speaking out friday afternoon. she was killed following a road rage incident in oakland, the city's 109th homicide so far this year. >> i went from planning her

birthday to planning a funeral. reporter: her mother described her daughter as a loving, caring girl who want to be a forensic scientist purchase going on the community to step up and stop the violence. >> she was 15 years old. how much is enough? it is just too much. we are killing our young and it is senseless. it is just very senseless. i am done. reporter: she believes we have a role to play. we have to teach each other and especially, our children to not only value life but also to be better than what we currently are. there uncle was the driver of the vehicle at the time of the incident. he had just picked her up after she had gotten her hair done and was taken her home. on that journey, a reckless driver in another car started to hunting him and then opened fire. >> it hurts me. me being her protector at that

would like to see go from the pandemic. the governor signed legislation that will maintain some things restaurant owners and residents would like to see stay. the legislation will give businesses that temporarily expanded their premises to sidewalks and parking lots a one-year grace. to apply for permanent expansion. additional legislation will out restaurants that sell food to go alcoholic beverages with food orders through the end of 2026. >> as big as a catastrophe as this was, let us take the good that we learned during this emergency and make it permanent. reporter: it took place in the kingston restaurant. >> over the last year and a half, we struggled through the pandemic but nonetheless, we are totally bouncing back. still, not 100%. reporter: when it first hit, they lost 70% of sales largely due to lack of alcohol sales.
