are scheduled for friday and saturday. both are sold up. fans we spoke to are glad they got tickets. this is the first sold-out game since the pandemic. of course, wednesday night, they only had standing room. they only had tickets that were priced for over $100. this game is not only bringing life back to san francisco but boosting the economy for businesses and parking garage is in the area. we spoke to a family who came from fresno. they paid $90 to park nearby. if you are coming tonight, you will have to pay a lot of money to park around here or take public transit. i don't know if you can hear behind us. we can hear the beat l.a. chance. there will be a lot of that tonight. live in san francisco. ama: that might be coming from the studio.

thank you. the action network starts at 6:37 at che center, the warriors take on the lakers in a preseason game. thousands of fans are going to the game so watch out for traffic and avoid the area if you can. dan: beat l.a. look like traffic on the bay but it was the parade of ships. the fire department led the ships under the golden gate ridge and their assigned ports. very impressive. visitors can tour the ships this weekend through monday. and so many ways, the sta ways,t the show is the blue angels. here they are soaring over the bay. there were also aerial acrobats and other high-performance aircraft as well. fans wash today from wherever they could get a glimpse of the airshow begins at 11:50 tomorrow and noon on sunday.

francisco. fleet week in october in san francisco. the iconic event is back after being canceled last year due to the pandemic. after spending most of the year inside avoiding mass gatherings, they returned to sunny skies to watch one of the best airshows in the country. >> it feels great being -- getting back to a sense of normalcy, getting out there and just being with the community again. reporter: he is from the bay area and said this is one of his favorite events. when he knew it was returning, he would not miss it. >> not a cloud in the sky, alcatraz in the background, the golden gate bridge. you got some wind conditions but that is san francisco for you. reporter: if the acrobatics were not enough. it is a good day to sport orange and black. >> we are going tonight and tomorrow. we cannot wait for it we wish we could go there right now. reporter: he traveled from utah

let us bring in spencer to check in our weekend forecast. it is breezy today. spencer: you can see on the satellite radar image we have strong gusty onshore winds and showers moving in our direction. let us talk about the winds first. we have gusts between 25 and 30 miles per hour. ventures in the outfield where it will be rather windy throughout the entire game. a temperature from starting page to final out will not move much between 55 and 60 miles per hour. overnight forecasts show a few showers moving through. all locations will get wet but some of us well. the showers will wind down by early tomorrow morning giving us a sunny day which is good news if you plan to go out and do -- see the blue angels do their thing in the sky. will have sunny skies both days with highs in the mid to upper

60's. wasn't viewing, conditions for the end of fleet week. dan: just lovely. san francisco is the only city hosting fleet week this year because the covid numbers are so low. cruise ships will return on monday, earning a big economic boost. they must all be vaccinated. marion county an unstable much san francisco with easing mask rules for certain indoor settings like places like offices, gyms and churches where everybody is fully vaccinated starting next friday. solano county's health office is calling out other bay area counties saying there was no benefit to an indoor mask mandate. >> none of the counties that had such a mandate showed any benefit. all of them should have seen a reduction in disease within at most, two weeks. none of them dead. dan: other health officials strongly disagree. we are in the newsroom with the story. reporter: throughout this

pandemic, we have struggled with mixed messaging and this is a nether example of that. since august, the transmission rate has been right high by the cdc with the exception of just one day yet, as we just heard, county health officer stands by his decision not to enforce an indoor mask mandate saying that there has not been at least one case to support it. as most of the bear area inches towards lifting indoor mask mandates, the one county that never had one stands by its dis-mission -- decision despite having the highest transmission rate. reporter: he is the health officer for solano county. he said requiring masks for vaccinated people in indoor environments did not make sense, given county data did not support that is where transmission is occurring. they report more than 10,000 cases per every 100,000 people, the most of any county. >> whistle have a lot of disease. we have higher rates of diseased and the other counties yet it is

not passing in indoor spaces. reporter: given what we know about how transmissible the viruses, how can you be sure? >> we investigate every case. we do contact tracing. what we found is every case we would interview would say yeah, i went to a party and the other people tested positive. those illnesses were occurring in these family and social reporter: gatherings. reporter:the county has yet to receive any evidence of it passing at any indoor environments but it is unclear if the data to prove that has been made available to the public. how did you respond to some who say it isn't better to be safe than sorry? >> better safe than sorry is a philosophy. it is not science. if this mandate made a difference, we should have seen evidence of it and asked the question, it does counties that implemented it show a faster reduction in disease than those that did not implemented? the answer is no. reporter: other health officers

disagree. >> it definitely had an effect. reporter: sonoma county's health officer says there is no question there has been a benefit to an indoor mask mandate but added the success cannot be achieved it to just one intervention. >> there are many things going on. there are orders, there are vaccine verifications. reporter: it did not reach the height of slowness in the linda search yet there have been 220 cases of viral spread traced to indoor events like restaurants and bars. reporter: according to our vaccine tracker, 57% of solano counties publish and is fully vaccinated. that is the lowest rate in the bay area but the doctor told us that if he were to implement a mandate, he would fear even more people would not follow the rules or simply refuse to get vaccinated. dan: how does the cdc

solano county to the rest of the seat -- bay area? reporter: not good. solano is doing the worst when it comes to case rates. solano has nearly doubled the number of cases per 1000 people compared to san francisco and it hit has not changed much in the past month. dan: interesting. thank you very much. most exciting part of an earthquake soccer game was a fan running onto the field and punching a player. the situation got worse from there. the goal is to prevent this from happening in the future. >> this is our greenroom. ama: four years after the northbay wildfire, survivors are trying to rebuild. from supply shortages to insurance delays. your deal is far from over. >> i gotta go from 20 my daughters birthday to planning a funeral instead. dan: just heartbreaking. she was doing was something no mother should ever deal with.

dan: when the field looks like this, the score does not matter. several people arrested at the earthquakes game including a fan who attacked a player. there were multiple fights and a shooting outside the stadium. it was bedlam. we explained the steps being put into place to ensure this does not happen again. reporter: last night, the san jose earthquakes welcomed a team from mexico and international friendly match. the action off the field ended up being anything but kind. it can only be described as chaos. >> jaime season ticket holder and it is unlike anything i've

ever seen. reporter: 40 police officers responded to a brawl involving 30 fans in the parking lot following the end of the match. eight were arrested two others transferred to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. >> because of the nature of the incident itself, we are looking for additional victims who were injured or saw something happen. have video evidence of somebody assaulting other people and want them to come forward because it is under investigation. reporter: police say it could have been this moment when a fan ran onto the field and punched a player that eight netted the events in the parking lot. this and the rowdiness of the crowd made season ticket holder big into worry about what may happen post game. avmuch eppy he made the call to we had a feeling it would be rowdy or than anything we have seen. reporter: it up let home again until next weekend but there is a scheduled match between two international opponents tomorrow night at paypal.

ama: the school district is facing a 116 million shortfall for 2023. despite sounding the alarm, they voted to continue spending money to cover up controversial murals at washington high school. we have that story. reporter: as of today, san francisco unified has spent 140 $5,000 to defend their fight to cover drug -- cover up the controversial murals at this high school. >> the initial vote was to whitewash or permanently remove the murals. when a national and international outcry six weeks later, they have reverse that and changed it to a 5 -- 4-3 vote to cover the murals. a superior court judge ruled against he school district.

last tuesday, they voted 6-12 continue pursuing the case. the district would not comment today because of the pending litigation. council dead. >> we have deep values and they are committed to equity. we may have to make some tough decisions for a while but we don't need to be wasting anymore money on lawsuits in my opinion. reporter: the decision to appeal came on the same day a consultant warned the school district to keep their spending under control. >> time is of the essence here. tackling bite by bite, piece by piece. can eat the whole pizza at once. reporter: in addition to the 148,000 euros litigation, they have spent 60,000 on lawsuits when it tried to rename 44 schools. 115,000 to defend against a

finds rebuilding is a work in progress. reporter: chaos unfolding the night of october 8, 2017 when a monster wildfire surrounded much of northeastern sonoma county. there were mass evacuations including kaiser hospital. patients will away from the flames. >> they went to this neighborhood getting everyone to evacuate. reporter: i reported on this. the event unreal for both of us. >> this entire neighborhood was gone. i remember turning the corner and we look at each other. it was just to the point where you could not believe what your eyes were seeing. reporter: this is what that neighborhood look like back then. here is how it looks today. >> it was shocking. reporter: his place was among 5000 homes destroyed. he has since rebuilt. in the ashes, he found his wedding rings including his wife's.

she had passed away before the fire. >> that is closure for me for me forgetting stuff out the house. reporter: completely wiped out. bells told 24 times at at ceremony to remember 24 lives lost in the fire. four years later, the homes destroyed have been rebuilt. that is the good news. 15% of folks are still struggling to get back home. >> this is our master bedroom. reporter: she shows us her home still under construction. red tape and a federal loan delay have made things tough. >> i am one of 5000 homes burned in one area. it is hard to find the people and the manpower you need to rebuild. reporter: the fire marshal who lost his own home in the fire says lessons were learned. >> we learn the way we were warned, respond to it, the way

miles per hour around parts of the bay area which of course, will elevate fire danger and that strong gusty pattern will continue into late tuesday afternoon. that is the period covered for this fire watch. it goes into effect 11:00 sunday night until 5:00 tuesday afternoon. by then, those gusts will range from 35-40 miles per hour. relative humidity will be dangerously low. that is why we have the high fire danger during that today period. winds will continue in this pattern and taper off early enough on tuesday that this weather watch can be canceled. ama: that would be good. need details on that week old oil spill off the coast of orange county. the initial incident that caused the rupture of the pipeline could have occurred up to one year ago.

after further investigation, multiple ship anchors may have struck the pipeline several times since october of last year after noticing marine growth around the crack. >> is not like a gouge from an anchor that may be went to the pipeline itself. it looks like a very linear and narrow crack that is not indicative of an anchor strike itself. more of a bend. ama: officials are confident that a large vessel struck the pipeline causing it to move 105 feet they are saying the amount of oil spilled into the ocean could be lower. they estimate a range of 25,000-131,000 gallons could of late. they had several leads on the investigation. dan: family of a 15-year-old girl killed in a road rage incident is calling to end the violence. she is -- oakland is home to 109

homicides last year. we sat down with the family and share their stories. reporter: an emotional family of the 15-year-old speaking out friday afternoon. she was killed following a road rage incident in oakland, the city's 109th homicide so far this year. >> i went from planning my baby girls birthday to planning a funeral. reporter: she described her daughter as a loving and caring girl who dreamed of growing up to be a forensic scientist. she is calling on the community to step up and stop the violence. >> she was 15 years old. how much is enough? it is just too much. we are killing our young. it is senseless. it is just very, very senseless i'm done. reporter: she believes will have a role to play. we gotta teach each other and especially our children to not only value life but to be better

than what we are. her uncle was the driver of the vehicle at the time of the incident. he had just picked her up after she had gotten her hair done and was taking her home. on that journey, a reckless driver started to taunt him and then opened fire. >> it hurts me. me being her protector at that moment, i could have protected her from somebody else's ignorant actions. reporter: suspect is at large. she has got a message for whoever is responsible. >> turn yourself in. take some accountability for the long life that you took -- young life that you took. you never get over it. you learn to live with it and those are the steps i am taking. i gotta learn to live with the fact i will never see my daughter grow up. i will never see her graduate. i will never see her turn 16. dan: really heartbreaking,

ama: the stock market ended the week slightly lower after a weaker than expected jobs report. they lost eight points. nasdaq was off 74. unemployment rate fell almost half a percent. the bay area is in 5.5%. anybody who has got shopping knows that businesses remain shortstaffed. why? that is what we explored with the economy play a critical role in the better bay area. reporter: it is not uncommon to hear business and restaurant owners complain they cannot find workers. the latest numbers show that sf recovered only 45% of the jobs that existed for the pandemic. oakland is done slightly better. san jose has recovered almost
