the0' wanhaiti again in oakland emeryville. mid 70's, dropping to the 70's with an onshore flow late in the day so the sea breeze kicks in and we look at gusty winds, a cold front headed our way and a level 1 system for sunday and several systems coming our way next week. i explain in a few minutes. >> developing news in santa cruz county where a wild fire is burning. calfire confirmed the estrada fire is a result of an earlier prescribed burn. flames burned 150 acres and a 0% contained. evacuation orders are in place by calfire says crews successfully have gotten retardant around the fire. residents can get help at poor alito's community church. no more evacuations are expected. the prescribed burned

supposed to be here, the location on this map. it began yesterday morning. around 4:30 yesterday afternoon, calfire put out word of the wildfire. caused the burn to jump the containment lines. prescribed burns can only take place when the fuel and weather conditions meet requirements. a suspect is injured after exchanging gunfire. police were trying to stop a stolen vehicle before 4:00 p.m. yesterday and say the suspect started firing and detectives engaged in what they describe as a prolonged exchange of gunfire. the suspect barricaded himself in the car but was eventually extracted. he was injured and taken to the hospital. the shopping plaza has reopened and nobody else was hurt. an oakland man was stranded in his home for hours after an ac transit bus crashed into it and took out his wheelchair ramp.

we are learning or -- new details about the police chase that started it all. ryan curry spoke with the man and his neighbors who rushed to help. >> it was a wild afternoon for darrell. crews here towing a bus out of his home in west oakland. >> i was screaming out of the house to some of my neighbors who had ran over to try to find if i was ok. ryan: he first spoke to me over the phone because he was stranded upstairs in his house. he is in a wheelchair and was stuck there for the afternoon. >> all that would and debris has knocked everything over to where my lift is and that is the only way i can get down, on that lift. ryan: emergency crews were able to get to him and make sure he was not injured. according to chp, officers chased a stolen car all the way to west oakland where collided with a bus, forcing it into his home. chp says four people were in the stolen car, two in the

hospital with injuries. the bus driver and others on board went to the hospital with minor injuries. >> i was standing in front of my house talking to my grandson and his friends, which is a few houses down the block, and we had the crash. we looked down and we saw the vehicle. ryan: mercedes rodriguez was one of the neighbors that came to check on her. -- check on him. once he was safely downstairs, he told us he still needed to figure out where he was going to stay. >> that is a scenario happening right now. what i will do at this point, i have no idea. where i'm going to go -- no idea where i'm going to go. ryan: people that live in this area told me one of the neighbors was on the bus and taken to the hospital. as far as repairs to his home, he expect a long process with the city of oakland and his insurance company. ryan curry, abc 7 news. liz: mask rules have changed in

several bay area counties. public health to parma's in san francisco and marin are easing restrictions for indoor settings like gyms. yorkie health is a better component of building a better bay area. our reporter was in san rafael where many are more than ready to dig the masks. >> the signs are coming down at the san francisco tech firm, fast. >> this is a milestone for us today. >> face masks are no longer required for employees. >> the city decided it is safe for us to take our masks off again and it is nice to collect with colleagues on that level. >> people can now unmask in some indoor settings like small offices or fully vaccinated -- or where fully vaccinated people gather. >> it is nice to get back to some normalcy. >> san rafael no requires

state mask mandate and we are only talking about the local mandate. the state would require people unvaccinated in public places to continue to cover their face. >> dr. willis sa dig masks yet because other state agencies will have the final say of the mask mandate is lifted in san rafael, cornell barnard, abc 7 news. liz: an independent fda panel voted to recommend johnson & johnson's booster shot for millions of americans. adults over the age of 18 would be eligible and since a single shot j&j vaccine does not offer as strong a protection against covid, the panel agreed to recommend a second shot two months after the first does. j&j says it's studies have shown their boosters increase the immune system's response against covid. >> it will increase efficacy against severe disease, increase efficacy against all symptom

[rocket blasting] liz: the mission will explore a swarm of space rocks. they are swarms of rocky material trapped in the same orbit as jupiter around the sun. scientists think the trojan asteroids could be some of the oldest out tax -- oldest objects in the solar system. they hope this will give nasa insight into the creation of the universe. so far west lost its gold standard accreditation but it is not in danger of closing. the association of zoos and aquarium made the decision this

month and safari west is now appealing it. the accreditation is more for prestige and helps build up reputation. the santa rosa wildfire it has to pass annual infections by the state and federal government. the association of zoos and aquariums put out a statement, " the commission noted serious concerns with veterinary practices and care and acquisition and disposition of animals." safari west issue their response saying, " we believe this is based on misinformation." safari west has been accredited by the aca since 2010. unless there's a dramatic -- dramatic change in the next couple weeks, about one million people will follow the strict distraught rules in california. the san jose california will require customers to reduce usage by 15% from 2019 levels. if they go over, they will have to pay surcharge of a little
