at 11:00, live on abc's is seven and wherever you stream. right away, we have team coverage for you tonight. luz pena is in the drew: north bay drew:, folks drew: drew: are worried about flooding in burn areas. a flash flood issue has been -- watch has been issued for parts of san mateo county. we are beginning to see the beginning -- leading edge of this atmospheric river. on the storm impact scale, this is a level for major storm, we have to go back to 2017 we had our last level for storm. it has been years since we've seen a storm of this intensity. we are tracking heavy rain, flooding likely, strong winds, power outages, we are watching burn scars closely for debris flows, very possible. here is the leading edge of our atmospheric river, already have some downpours working through parts of the north day. here is another edge of heavy downpours about to move into marin county and the city. this is just one rounds dou we are tracking the next 24 hours.

here's our atmospheric river, all this moisture is going to have to move on shore through the day tomorrow. that means inches of rainfall likely. it's gone future weather. something you don't typically see, this red color, that is intense rainfall early tomorrow morning. for much of the morning on sunday, the heavy rain is focused in the north bay. it is in the afternoon and evening with atmospheric river begins to sink south, by 5:00 tomorrow we are in the thick of it. heavy rain and strong winds. a flash flood watch will begin tomorrow morning. it will be in the north bay and santa cruz mountains, because of that flash flooding possible. very high concerns for flooding, also trees and power lines coming down. rivers can take some water, river flooding remains low. we are going to go hour-by-hour, show you how much rain you can expect and the winds coming your way tomorrow morning. haven't seen bread on that doppler in a long time. dion: the rain is a welcome

sight, the recent wildfires have folks worried. it will not take much brain to reporter: rain is picking up in larkspur, we are hours away from the heaviest part of this rainfall this weekend. several northbay residents are glad it is finally raining, but our keeping a close eye on these flood loan -- flood prone areas. after the second dries year on record, this heavy rain is what is giving northbay residents hope. >> we need this water desperately for crops, for our families, for the community. reporter: for the past four decades, the preston has seen the impact of fires threaten his home and vineyard. on the outskirts of healdsburg. last time, how posted the flames get to your property? >> two hours, perhaps from here.

strongest storms we have seen in years, some areas and northbay expected to experience 40 mile-per-hour winds. it is coming down hard here in larkspur. dion: you can certainly hear the rain as well. now to other parts of the bay area, where people are bracing for the storm's impact. tim johns joins us live for the dust from the peer in pacifica. i can hear the wind. reporter: the rain is definitely coming down near the peer. the waves are also definitely picking up in intensity as well. with these weather conditions only expected to get worse as the hours go on, everyone we talked to today say they are just getting ready now. as the first big storm of the season heads our way, many bay area residents spent saturday afternoon preparing. >> we got a bit of reservoir

company is anticipating many of their customers may lose power. >> when the weather clears and it is safe to get out there, our crews are going to be out in force, making repairs and restoring any outages that may happen due to the storm. reporter: the san francisco public works department is hosting another sandbag distribution tomorrow from 8:00 until 12:00. that is open to all city residents as well as business owners. dion: quite a soaking already. over the weekend, the alameda county fair is being cut short. the fair will be closed tomorrow because of the major storm. people who had tickets can use them for any other day of the fair, which runs through halloween. parts of santa cruz county are now under evacuation order because of the incoming storm. calfire tweeted this map showing the locations, you can see them in red and yellow.

atmosphericer ethn liforn. live doppler 7, zoom down the street level, we find heavy rain at this late hour, around the north bay and the city. pups of yellow and orange, those are the downpours that are just beginning to move through. we will see several rounds of heavy rain over the next 24 hours. the lay hoe, 11:48, shortl after midnight, 1249 in vacaville. not only the rain we are worried about, the wind as well. it is beginning to increase, gusty winds from half moon bay to san jose, gusting over toy miles per hour. tomorrow we will have a wind advisory in effect for much of the day. temperatures, upper 50's is likely where we are going to sit in the overnight. -- a level for major storm we are tracking on your sunday.

this is only the second time since the storm impact scale has been created that we have had a levels -- level for storm. you have to go back to 2017 for the first one. heavy rain, flooding likely tomorrow. heavy winds, we are watching her burn scars closely for debris flows. hour-by-hour, very rare we see red colors, that is intense rainfall, that for much of the morning is focused on the north bay. at 5:00, east bay hills, trying it pick up some downpours first thing, 8:00 that the spirit river is pointed at the north bay. it is in the afternoon it begins to sink south. by noon, that heavy rain moving through the city again, east bay, approaching the peninsula as well. i 5:00 we expect to find heavy rain areawide along with strong winds. watch what happens of the next five hours, this barely moves from 5:00 to 10:00. we are going to add additional rainfall in the evening on sunday.

yellow and orange in the south bay, we will get some heavy rain in san jose as well, early monday morning we are still tracking heavy rain, it is not until about 5:00, 6:00 a.m., there's the back end of that atmospheric river moving through. a good estimate, four to six -- 47 inches of rain. around the bay shoreline, to to four inches of rain, one to two inches likely in the south bay. as the flood watch for the north bay and incentive cruise mountains. -- santa cruz mountains. the entire bay area under that wind advisory for gusts over 30 miles an hour to 40 miles an hour. look at those winds, screaming out of the south with that heavy rain in the north bay. that is where we are likely to see isolated power outages because of that heavy rain and strong wind. high surf warning tomorrow night through tuesday, we will likely see breakers 20 to 30 feet.
