announcer: building a better bay area. moving forward, finding solutions. this is abc 7 news. >> on ing foan answer one way or the other. dan: the future of the oakland a's proposed harward terminal ballpark and ultimately the team eggs future in oakland could hinge on a vote today. thank you for joining us, i am dan ashley. >> and i am ama daetz. the alameda county supervisors had a meeting all day and we are still waiting for them to vote. reggie: very interesting. abc 7 sports anchor casey pratt has been monitoring the meeting closely and is in the newsroom to break down the hardest of this decision. reporter: in their second marathon meeting since june, the elementary -- alameda county board of supervisors took on the issue. it has been five hours and there

is still no vote. the supervisors are being asked to join the stadium proje's inpendt financial analysisthni t would deliver over 65 million dollars in construction tax revenue to the estimated $5 million per year toward homelessness, health, and education. >> this is not the --. we have all learned from our mistakes of the past. this is financially responsible. the affordable housing and public parks business. reporter: so if they vote yesternight, what comes next? they will announce the stadium site finalists in las vegas. the city of oakland expects to complete its environmental impact report by the end of the year, a huge step.

after that they can hammer out a final agreement and get to the binding votes. but first, they need to do the nonbinding votes, and that is what we're waiting for right now. dan: remarkable. casey, let's break down what is really on the line with this vote. reporter: remember two weeks ago when the mlb commissioner came out and said he is not sure he sees a path in oakland? a vote by alameda county joining the city gives a path to the commissioner, saying, yes, we want to get something done here. dan: all right, there is obviously a lot of at stake and a lot of caution. how much risk is the county want to take on if they sign onto this deal? reporter: right now the deal is structured by the city and the county so that it will not harm troll farms. there is a lot of construction tax revenue that would come the county's way, they just have to sign onto the project. so no risk. the oakland a's for the bill, pay the money upfront and then they get reimbursed.

so if there are any problems, the a's are on the hook. dan: thank you so much. we will see what happens today. ama: also and the supervisors' agenda is approving an ad campaign for the sheriff's office. 2000 or thousand dollars would be used to recruit deputies. it would pay for local radio advertisements as well as ads on digital platforms. dan: a bistro has been declared in a trail of a danville police officer accused of killing a man during a chase in november of 2018. jurors convicted andrea hall of -- andrew hall of assault. however, they were deadlocked on the murder charge, leading the judge to declare a mistrial. prosecutors allege he used deadly force. he will be sentenced on the assault conviction month. ama: in san francisco, a woman was stabbed in the financial district this afternoon. tim joins us outside police

headquarters with the details. reporter: not a lot of details being released at this time as it is still an ongoing and active investigation, but here are some of what we know so far. around 12:15, and on-duty officers was flagged down by a civilian regarding someone being attacked near mission and stewart street in san francisco. the officer found an adult female suffering from possible stab wound. the victim was transported to a local hospital, where she is receiving treatment. >> the motivation, the reason for the attack, is all under investigation. the extent of the injuries of the victim are not being released at this time. detained. charges are still ending. anyone with further information is asked to either call or text the san francisco police department.

i am live outside police headquarters this evening. tim johns, abc 7 news. dan: thank you so much. the father of da chesa boudin has been granted parole. david gilbert will be released by november 30. he was involved in a brinks armored car robbery in new york in 1981, where a security guard and two police officers were killed. gilbert and chesa boudin's mother, kathy, served as getaway drivers. kathy was released on parole in 2003. thboama plans to move to a home near beech street and clark avenue. for that happens, the community has a chance to express its concerns. east palo alto police say johnson served 13 years of

a 36 year sentence. he was convicted in 1982 and 1984. a hearing is scheduled on december 1 and the san mateo county superior court building. dan: new details on internet restaurants in the bay area in trouble of not following the vaccine mandates. contra costa county has rescinded the permit for in-n-out after it did not follow vaccine mandates. locations in san ramon and others have also notices. in-n-out's chief legal officer says the chain refuses to become the vaccination police for any government. the san francisco department of public health has received a complaint that the fisherman's wharf in-n-out is allowing customers to dine inside. indoor dining there has been shut down since october 14 because of previous violations. public health officials say they are investigating further and will address any violations that are observed. meantime, vaccines for 28

million children in the u.s. could get final fda approval s&s tonight. it is possible after the fda advisory panel voted in support of a two shot pfizer vaccine for children ages five to 11. the authorization process is on track to allow kids to get their first shot in early november, and become fully immunized in december, by christmas. >> i think the evidence is abundantly clear that people who get the vaccine, should they get the virus, have a significantly less severe course of illness. among all age groups. dan: following fda approval, the cdc will take up the issue, possibly as soon as next tuesday. ama: a group of health experts encounter leaders joined forces today to assess santa clara county response to covid, and how it is pivoting to deal with long-term covid.

[laughter] more than 150 million of us have had our personal information stolen or exposed last year. we are talking passwords, telephone numbers. so here is what you need to do to regain control of your accounts and protect your personal data from the next breach. on april 15, 2019, consumer reports' tech editor got alerts saying he had signed up for several credit cards. >> i didn't know what was happening because i didn't sign up for any new credit card. michael: nicholas checked online to see where his personal information was compromised. >> it was scary and stressful. the worst part of it was that i was on the hook to clean up the mess. michael: sometimes companies will contact you to let you know if you are the victim of a data breach. but you can also do some digging online yourself to find out what information was compromised.

that website "have i been poland " will tell you if it is your email address, or password. >> if your password was compromised, change it everywhere you have used it. michael: it is a good reminder not to reuse passwords. don't worry about having to remember new ones, a password manager does that for you. consumer reports recommends one called "onepass" which creates unique passwords for each of your accounts. since cyber criminals can use your personal information to try to log into your account, use something called multi-factor authentication, which requires a second form of identification to log in. >> often it is a code sent to your phone. we recommend using something more secure than that. michael: like the google authenticator app or a key such as ubikey.

commission is meeting to discuss extending the lease. the supports the extension. >> i support extending the lease. . this navigation center has been opened the last two years. it has brought people off the streets, transition them to housing, provided much-needed services and shelter throughout the pandemic, and despite some of the concerns that were raised before it opened, it has been overwhelmingly supported by the neighborhood. melanie: he says the city has received very few constituent complaints related to the navigation center, especially over recent months. >> i haven't heard any organized opposition at all to it being extended. melanie: previously, safe embarcadero for all was outspoken on its concerns about the navigation center. but the group's mr. president tells abc 7 news, "neighbors had complaints about drug use and camping outside when it first

opened. but after covid reduced capacity and restricted turnover, conditions improved." he also says safe embarcadero for all is in the process of winding down. in a few years, the supervisor says the navigation center will be developed for housing. >> there is no solution for homelessness without navigation centers and without housing. melanie: in san francisco, melanie woodrow, abc 7 news. ama: the san francisco port commission is meeting to allow crab sales from fishermen. if approved, it would be able to go to fisherman's wharf, and purchase live dungeness crabs. dungeness crab season is about to start november 14. dan: pg&e says it is working to restore power after sunday's big storm. in woodside, the area near the preserve saw heavy damage. crews are replacing two power poles that were broken and three others that were leaning. about 150 customers nearby lost power. >> we have about 3000

crewmembers out in the field, cruise, contact crews, vegetation folks, we also brought an assistance from san diego gas and electric, and we have thousands of people behind the scenes working to get power restored and get these repairs. dan: pg&e says because of flooding and downed trees, some of their equipment is hard to access, one reason why the power is still out in some areas two days after the storm rolled through. it look now at the current outages in the bay area. this is pg&e's updated map. . you can see the averages are still widespread, but the green dots each represent fewer than 50 customers. the utility has not given an estimated time for full restoration, but again, they have something like 3000 technicians out there working. ama: at least we don't have any other storms coming our way. dan: we need a break desperately. it was nice to get the rain, but, boy.

sandhya: it is nice to have cold conditions. we had a few showers in the north bay, santa rosa picked up 0.09 inches. right now we are watching the waves. this is santa cruz, where at surf has been pretty rough along the coastline. you can see the waves crashing. right now 13 voters. breakers could be as high as 18-24 feet. high surf advisory until tonight. be careful out there. live doppler 7 showing you a few showers that came through northern california. some of them making their way into the bay area. quarter of an inch is all i could find at some of the wettest north bay locations in the last 24 hours. as you look at doppler seven now, it is cloudy. below the radar beam, we are still seeing a few drops. don't be surprised if you run into a few showers in the north bay. 50's and 60's for temperatures
