from the school principal that went out to all parents. other students, though, very upset about what they witnessed at school and saw in this photo. >> i was surprised, how the principle or none of the security agents stopped him or anything like that. reporter: students tell us there was a costume contest on lunch on wednesday, and that is the day the costume was worn. in a note that went out to parents on thursday, the principal says the student in the ku klux klan costume admitted to wearing it on a dare. >> even if it was a dare, that was still disrespectful to our kind and stuff. that's still disrespectful. reporter: according to the principles note, the student where the cost of more through -- costume through four periods without being told to take it off. it was told he wore the costume during certain times and not during class. >> why would you let people come to school on a dare like that? reporter: the note says the student in the costume has been assigned consequences. he will participate in the school's restorative justice

update to evacuate some of its team members from afghanistan. ama: another family is safely out of the country and on their way home to northern california. dan: cheryl jennings has cover the organization for years and has this update from delhi, qatar. repoer: this was the late-night scene at the airport in doha, qatar, afghan families who have been evacuated from kabul and had the documents processed at a military base. they were greeted by a very excited piece founder. >> we're feeling well. we're feeling good. and that ceo have he have he reporter: to see that bus come in, escorted by the police and be able to see that family, the one family we have worked so hard to get them safely.

we cannot show the faces of him and his family because they have relatives in afghanistan who might be at risk. we also changed his name to protect him. the family lives in northern california. they were on vacation in afghanistan when their world turned upside down and they became trapped. >> we tried our the more crowd and mismanagement, we were not able to do that. children have become injured. >> but multiple times he attempted to go to the airport. one have his children broke his leg due to the stampede we saw in the horrific situation in august, 2021. >> they are getting to everyone and taking care of ch and every person. reporter: heidi and her team have been relentless about

evacuating their most at risk employees. she and her husband first flew to islamabad, turkey to be home to the same time zone right after the taliban came into power. then heidi and i came to delhi, qatar with a personal appeal to anyone connected to the rescue effort. slowly, afghan families are getting out. sherry's family has been through so much and they're finally here at the airport, ready to head back home and start their lives all over again with memories they will never forget. and roots of peace is hoping to evacuate more afghan employees who might be at risk. and many of them are roots of peace women, women who have started their own businesses, looked to roots of peace as a role model, and hired 80 women. those women are now highly at risk. air being hunted, running from home to home. i'm not going to give up on
