reggie: pg&e has reached a settlement with state regulators

reports of sexual harassment. h's protest yesterday over unified school district's policies. some students even directly confronted the district spokesperson, who says the district is taking action. >> one of the things we are doing today is making sure every teacher, every administrator knows exactly how to handle each situation. kumasi: one student says there was a sexual assault at oakland tech last week and while the school held a rally to address it the next day, students say staff and teachers were not supportive. oakland unified will start hosting classes at oakland tech next week to teach students about consent inappropriate sexual behavior. in fiction change of the processes in the works in san francisco unified school district. the financially struggling districts as it wants to scrap

treat covid-19. health officials granted conditional authorization to antiviral drug developed by merck. right now, it is not clear when the pill will become available. it is intended to be taken by adults with mild to moderate symptoms who have at least one risk factor for developing severe disease. the pill is pending review by regulators in the u.s. kumasi: new concerns of at the upcoming trial of three white men accused in the killing of ahmaud arbery. he was a shot to death will jogging near his home in georgia last year. jobina: this trial is being called a major test for racial justice in the deep south, but questions are being raised. nearly all of the jurors chosen are white, even though ahmaud arbery was black. the final jury in the glynn county georgia trial will include 11 white people, most of them women, and one black man. race was a key issue in jury selection after the prosecution accused the defense of purposefully walking black jurors of the 40 potential

jurors, one fourth were black. the defense claimed that some of the potential black jurors have already formed opinions on the case. >> i wasn't surprised. that is just what we've already been facing in this case, just another part of the injustices that we see here in glynn county. jobina: in their truck when a neighbor joined in and started recording. travis allegedly shot him three times. the men say they thought he was burglarizing homes and were trying to make a citizens arrest. all three men have pleaded not guilty, opening statement are expected to start tomorrow. reggie: thank you. house democrats have added paid family leave back into president biden's $1.85 trillion domestic policy package. it was removed late last month to appease democrats worried about the size of the bill. debate is expected to start in the house today on that bill that also includes work permits for immigrants and state and

local tax breaks. vote is excited to wrap up by tomorrow on the package and the smaller $1 trillion infrastructure bill. kumasi: san mateo county wants to help children feel at ease when they get their vaccines. the county is opening its first pediatric vaccine clinic at the san mateo county event center. kids ages five to 11 are going to be greeted superheroes on a red carpet. they are going to be tv's and life-size games of chess and connect four. the clinic is open saturday then wednesday to saturday of next week. appointment's required. at moran county's public health office, perforations are underway to vaccinate element a school aged kids. organizers spent the past three weeks gathering donations to purchase large cut out posters, colorful band-aids and other things. just to make the vaccine cites more kid friendly. the hope is these decorations and distraction will make the shot less scary. >> when you put a little bit of something for them to look at or hold or bubbles to distract, the

shot is nothing. kumasi: marin county has received 2700 doses of the vaccine for kids ages five to 11. the first vaccination site will open saturday at miller creek elementary school where they held the clinic earlier this year for teenagers. the sites will rotate to different public schools throughout the county each weekend of the month. reggie: not all parents in the north bay went to get tickets vaccinated. a group of kids gathered to protest, part of a worldwide walkout against vaccine mandates. the deputy superintendent for marin county schools says he understands some parents have concerns. >> we understand the concern. this is a very big decision. we don't minimize that. but we also are so clear that it is the right thing to do. reggie: the county says their phones have been ringing off the hook with parents hoping to get their kids the shot. marin county has the highest vaccination rate of any county in the state. tomorrow afternoon, half hour is dedicated to getting answers to
