we have a half mile visibilityit in san carlos. it's moving along to the coast. we are in the upper castro valley. up in albany, right at 50 degrees. we will be partly cloudy and above average. we are cooler in the next few days and we may be talking about some light rain in a few minutes. liz: representing its pharmacists will return to the bargaining table today. here's a breakdown of what has happened so far this weekend. yesterday, they reached an agreement to avert strikes in southern california, oregon, and why. the contract covers nearly 50,000 health care employees and 22 unions. they area pharmacists have no deal. this is impacting people trying

to get there prescriptions filled. tim has more on the development. it >> with the clock running down before 3:00 monday morning, pharmacists say they are ready to go on strike if a deal isn't reached. >> we want a fair contract. >> the president of the guild for pharmacists, the group leading the negotiations. he said that while kaiser has said talks had been taken place, he hasn't heard from them in weeks. >> it's a boldfaced lie.faced li it >> the strike could impact patients all over the bay. at the pharmacy in oakland, he'll waited in line for hours to get his prescription filled. >> i got here about 2:30 p.m.. it was a couple of hours. click while the staff was working as fast as they could, they could not keep up with the demand.

many members were getting the prescriptions they need for the next week now, in case the strike happens. >> everyone is frustrated. i don't blame them. what bothered me most of all, you have elderly people in line. >> the guild said patients are the top party. they said many members will work without pay through the strike in order to help meet the needs. >> we have always cared for the patients. we do everything we can for the patients. >> the next round of talks will take place sunday afternoon. kaiser has contingency plans in place in the mail delivery pharmacy will still be available. liz: also without a deal are engineers that went on strike september 18. they want better working conditions and higher pay. >> i've been an employee since

1995. hopefully we can get this resolved. i still want to be a proud worker for kaiser. they've made myuswa tma sure wep that going. liz: the you knew that represents the engineers say things to been moving slowly, lately there has been some movement. this is the last day of business for two walgreens stores. the store on clement street and the store in hayes valley are closing for good starting tomorrow. all grains says prescriptions are being moved to other locations. rampant shoplifting has been cited for why the stores are closing. this year, we shot that viral video of a shoplifter clearing out shelves. another location on cesar chavez street will close wednesday. that will be the fifth to shut down this month.

this morning, new video shows the moments of three old child was objected in sacramento, sparking an amber alert. some might find the video disturbing. you can see a man tussling with a woman over the child. the frightening moments were captured on a security camera. it happened on friday night. the man it rips the child out of her arms. the child was located in hayward yesterday morning. the child will be united with family. the suspect is accused of shooting to people and then taking the child. investigators believe he knew the victims and the child. the relationship is unclear. the shooting victims are expected to survive. turning to the pandemic, florida has a lower covid rate than california. that is according to data from the cdc. local health experts say we need

to start looking at the data differently. ryan curry has more on what they want to see changed. >> the new case rate shows the difference between two ends of the country. california is still in the orange group. florida is in the moderate level. >> this comparison, it's it's completely not surprising. it has to do with who gets hit hard. it >> covid case rates fluctuated throughout the pandemic. he said each state saw surges at one point. >> we focus on infections. it's always going to look weird with spikes here and spikes there. >> what's interesting is both states react to different. florida did not implement restrictions. one reason why florida has a low rate is because a lot of the population already contracted

little bit. we are not going to get lucky with rain then. it's not looking like a big deal. we haven't put on on our impact scale yet. you will notice we do have the gray over the east bay. you can see the city in the distance and the low cloud deck. if you are driving, take your time. it can be right in front of you in no time and allow for poor visibility. it is 51 in oakland. half moon bay, 53 degrees. it was 76 yesterday at the beach. you might want to hang out there. more clouds are entering the bay area today. it is 51 in napa. it is 52 in concord.

just over a mile. vacaville is under a mile. it's going to take 11:00, maybe noon time for some of these inland valleys to break out into sunshine. we are still looking above normal readings. those light winds out of the east and upper elevations, we are looking at san jose. it was fog yesterday. the dense fog advisory until noon. we had some on the peninsula looking at partly cloudy skies this afternoon. you will notice as the clouds thinned out a little bit, more cloud cover brings the temperature down. that system that will miss us to the north moves out. we are back into a cooler day on tuesday. the next chance of rain comes in on thursday. it's just a slight chance.

visibility from livermore. even around the san carlos airport, they are getting into some patchy fog. as we see those lighter winds, that is what is helping that fog drift our way. the golden gate bridge is not too bad it. we are looking at partly cloudy skies and mild conditions. temperatures are feeling more like they should for november. in the afternoon, you will notice we do thin out that cloud cover for some sun. we have thicker clouds for monday. we will have a few degrees cooler. we get cooler air and that is going to set the stage for a cooler week. another system on thursday, flirting with the bay area.

we will see how that plays out. it's nice to have these rain chances. it looks like the wind will shift offshore. it was 75 in redwood city yesterday. we had a few more high clouds. pacifica is in the upper 60's. northbay numbers from the low to mid 70's. we may not be reaching those numbers. bay, highs will be around 72 in walnut creek. we've got a few more clouds, with increasing chances, it's cooler with that slight chance
