the number of people asking for help. we are seeing a decrease in the number of donations. there are a lot of issues, inflation and concern about crime. >> in the bay area, there are fewer donations. they are trying to get the word out that they need more donations to help with growing demand. a christmas tree giveaway for people living in the bayview or hunters point area of san francisco. every year, the guardsmen sell christmas trees to raise money for at risk youth. leftovers are given away to families in need who cannot afford one of their own. today's giveaway will be on jenning street starting at 1:00 this afternoon. there will be another giveaway tomorrow. the urgent threat posed by climate change is driving an intense search for solutions. spencer christian has a look at

upper 30's in oakland, so another chilly start but not as cold as yesterday. yesterday was five degrees colder in livermore and cloud cover has been sitting with us overnight. that son, not coming up until about 7:20. winter arrives tuesday, so we will gain a few seconds after that, the days getting eventually a little longer. a chance of rain tomorrow. mean rain comes in overnight into your tuesday, not great for that tuesday morning commute. there is a look at the cloud cover in the north bay. otherwise, more son for the south bay. as we look at monday, it is cloudy, a few areas of drizzle. here comes the cold front. it is offshore by monday night, but overnight it pushes into the north bay. 6:00, we're looking at heavy

rain and showers to the east bay. it pushes through by the noon hour and still rain in the east bay. the tuesday afternoon commute, much better. you can see higher amounts here with the shading in the north bay. that is the first system. look what happens into the next nine days. this is the 28th of december. we are looking at yellow here and orange in the bay area. that translates into two to three inches of rain through next tuesday. that would be good news. in the mountains, that is a winter storm warning. that is a popular week for sure. 50. the forecast is chilly, some fog out there, chance of rain with wind, heavy rain at times.
