and killing people. it is not surprising at all you will see this. jobina: as for the holidays, dr. fauci recommends gathering indoors only with people who are vaccinated. if you don't know someone's vaccination status, he says it would be risky together indoors. kumasi: thank you. across the bay area, to mansour covid tests are high, as people do their best together for the holiday safely. getting an appointment for a test or an at-home test is proving to be a challenge. amy hollyfield joining us live more on this. amy: national drugstore chains are telling us they are seeing an unprecedented demand for covid tests. cvs and walgreens are both telling us they're doing all they can to keep the tests on the shelves. shoppers tell us they will call a location. they are told the store has a test, the shopper gets there and finds out they are all gone. people are wanting to get their tests before trips and gatherings, so demand is off the

kumasi: san jose has matched a 20 year high in traffic deaths. a person was killed yesterday morning while walking across mckie road near interstate 680. two cars hit the victim. both drivers stayed at the scene, but this crash marks san jose's 60th traffic deaths this year, according to police. that is a tie for a 20 year peak reached in 2015. reggie: flags are playing at half-staff in san leandro for the superintendent. a car hit him what he was working for his -- with his wife in oakland last week. he was first elected to the board and 2018 he was elected president just days before he died.
