fraud. the jury deadlocked on three counts of wire fraud against investors. good evening and thanks for joining us. dan: stephanie has been in court with the deliberations for days now. stephanie: it certainly felt tense in that courtroom leading up to the verdict. all 12 jurors staring at elizabeth holmes as we heard that guilty verdict read four times. certainly a sense of relief in the courtroom as this has been going on, deliberations for more than 50 hours at this point. this concludes the seventh day of deliberations for this jury. it really falls in line with what legal experts had predicted, given what was often described as the mountain of evidence revealed throughout this trial, specific to investors, including several audio recordings of calls holmes

had where she was caught making false statements in those recordings. we heard several times from legal experts how damaging that could be. she will not be immediately taken into custody. the next battle will be sentencing. she faces up to 20 years in prison on each count with the average sentence for wire fraud cases around 21 months. legal expert michelle hagan believes the judge could be stricter with her sentence given the amount of money lost. >> you add up the investor coming the amount of money, it's about 140 $4 million of the million that was alleged. that is a significant amount of money. that will increase the opportunity for the judge to give her more time than 21 months. >>

he said, she said, but a case built on evidence. we hired elizabeth holmes admit herself to modifying language on company documents sent to walgreens. the smoking gun of evidence in this case. she admitted to putting on company documents and later testifying she did not realize that it was misleading. in addition to the text messages the government had revealed throughout the trial that cast doubt on her allegations of abuse by her former coo and boyfriend. all of this coming down to this moment, more than 50 hours of deliberations, seven days of which this jury has been meticulously going through all the evidence revealed throughout this trial and it comes down to 29 witnesses to her credibility. we saw with four of those counts that is certainly what they believed.
6:03 pm
ama: what other penalties will she face? stephanie: she will face up 250 thousand dollars fine on each count, not to mention forfeiture. this is where she will have to forfeit all the money that was involved in any illegal activity pertaining to those four investor counts back to the government. she will also have to be unsupervised release, which means she will have to get permission if she has to leave the state or the country. dan: the money is one thing, but what about the full sentence? when what this -- when might we know when she will be? given her full sentence? stephanie: we are told 1-2 months at this point. a recommendation will be for the terms of her probation.
