called on the judge to keep the company on probation after they told their stories last year, u.s. district judge said he would consider extending the probation if federal prosecutors asked them to. but there office declined, saying it was not necessary. >> shame on them. shame on them. >> they are continuing to kill people. >> he is on the town council in paradise. pg&e's crimes earned his house down. >> if i was on probation, and i have been in the distant past, and i violated that probation, i would be locked up. >> while on probation, pg&e pleaded guilty to a felony for starting the campfire and 84 counts of involuntary manslaughter. >> the fact that the federal prosecutor will not take the judge's lead and keep these people on probation so they are

scrutinized so they cannot kill another person is a slap in the face to me personally and every survivor whose life is different because of pg&e's e responsible actions. brandon: the judge says pg&e has gone a crime spree during probation and will be a menace to california. pg&e is accused of felonies in the 2019 kincade fire and 2020's zogg fire which killed four people, leading to more manslaughter charges. instead of extended probation, the u.s. attorney's office wrote "at this juncture it appears the state courts are the proper forum." >> it is going to take years for those to come to a judgment. it did for us. >> who's getting paid off? >> obviously, they need a new prosecutor. brandon: two of the more than 70,000 people hurt in pg&e disasters. if the judge does not keep him

on a leash, they worry they may have more company soon. >> it hurts my heart. it hurts my heart. brandon: if nothing changes, the one day left on pg&e's probation will be its last. dan: brandon reached out to the justice department and u.s. attorney's office for comment but they declined. they have pointed out in the past that there is no legal precedent for extending probation. the judge declined to comment on the story as well, citing judicial ethics rules. ama: wall street rallied beating back dramatic losses. the dow was down more than 1100 points. it's finished up 99 points, .3%. the nasdaq gained 86 points. the s&p 500 also finished the day in positive territory, higher by 0.3%. experts cite multiple factors for the volatility.
