headlines -- cases and hospitalizations continue to decline, but the national daily death average has increased in the past two weeks. deaths usually rise two weeks after new cases and hospitalizations. in california, hospitalizations declined below 50,000 for the first time in a week. our test positivity rate is the same as yesterday, but still down 1.5% from a week ago. larry: in the north bay, and nonprofit health provider could be one of the first recipients in the bay area to get free n95 masks and covid testing kits. kristen: there is also a for first responders to be fully vaccinated. it is changing due to the surge. cornell: a new shipment of more than 9000 n95 masks from the federal government just arrived to protect many low income families. 400 million are being shipped to community health centers and

specifically design and stop them with only antiracist books in the area. larry: we talked with two creators and cofounders of rise up against racism, which is headquartered in walnut creek. >> we are in jenny's garage where a lot of our magic happens, and this completed library was done by one of our commissioned artists. she is based in the bay area. we are excited to install this. the books are part of our curated collections of antiracism inside. this is one of our libraries. >> it is beautiful. congratulations. where did the idea come from to do this? >> the idea really came last year after the terrible incident with george floyd. we really were inspired about how do we bring antiracist books to our children and the adults in our community, so we came up

with this idea to not only build little free libraries but also make them antiracist, and we made them very intentional and put them right in the middle, and you can see it says this little library is antiracist. we started installing them all over the bay area. our community has just been so receptive to this idea that we are filling our community with these diverse books, especially the ones for kids, because we truly think that these books spark conversation and very necessary conversation, especially now. >> absolutely, and a conversation that needs to keep happening. we have seen these antiracist little libraries pop up around the country. i was reading a "washington post" article where you all were included, but there were also

some people that started them and in one case, this woman has had all the books taken more than i think two times now. have you all had a positive response to this? any pushback? >> it has been really wonderful in our community and greater bay area. the support we received from individuals and organizations and then being able to go to our itrast and see how many different visitors are coming each and every day. thankfully, we really have not received pushback, but, you know, the other little free libraries that exist across the country, and the event that you just shared, i think it is really is illustrative that the work needs to continue. when folks are uncomfortable and thinking about and talking about issues of inclusion and
