boston is having its first blizzard warning in years with 70 mile-per-hour wind gusts. >> this could be life-threatening and we want to make sure we took all the steps we believe are necessary, starting with the declaration of emergency. dion: a number of states are in a state of emergency. blizzard conditions have impacted air travel, thousands of flights canceled. the storm is expected to last during this evening. a crash involving a pickup truck. this is the major wreck that caused train service to stop between the castro valley and west dublin stations. a pickup truck crashed in the median of i-580. not only was bart service impacted, but so was traffic on 580. it took 90 minutes for some people because of lynn closures on the 580 stretch.

in the north bay, a driver faces dui charges after veering off the highway and landing on top of a storage unit. chp said the driver was speeding when he pulled off of highway 29 in napa this morning. the driver was not seriously hurt but he was techie to the hospital where he was arrested for suspected dui. his car had to be hoisted off the top of a 12 foot high container. >> it hit several vehicles and a storage container and ended up right there. >> this one was something out of the movies, seeing a car on top of the container was something else. dion: a similar crash happened at the same place last year. chp said in this case the driver turned off the highway possibly thinking he missed his exit which was a half mile away. just ahead, we know ticket prices for tomorrow's 49ers-rams
