news. dan: an oakland man is in a

medically induced coma after police believe he was also altered after that nfc championship ballgame. the 49ers fan traveled to southern california to see the team take on the rams. i'm dan ashley. ama: i'm ama daetz. we are live with more on the investigation. reporter: good evening. police have identified daniel luna is the oakland man who was at the ucla hospital where he is in a medically induced coma, and police say those injuries came as a result from being assaulted . according to inglewood police, los angeles fire department got a call after 4:00 p.m. of luna being down in a parking lot. that is after the 49ers and rams game had kicked off. fire department rushed him to the hospital. several hours later, doctors contacted police. investigators say luna suffered

numerous injuries to his upper body. luna owns the peruvian roast run in oakland -- restaurant in oakland. we went by the restaurant tonight, and it was closed. police did not have any suspects or people of interest now, but they are reviewing surveillance footage outside the stadium. this is reminiscent of the attack on brian stowe, who was assaulted by dodgers fans in 2011 outside dodger stadium. stowe suffered significant injuries as a result. police did not say if this current attack on luna's because he was a 49ers fan. they are collecting evidence. they have not collected any people of interest or suspects regarding this incident. live in the east bay, abc 7. dan: tonight, we sent out an alert about breaking news on our

abc 7 news app. you can download the app in the app store. ama: a man is in custody accused of shooting five people in or avail. -- in oroville. it happened around 7:30 in a greyhound bus stopped outside an am-pm store. deputies arrested suspects at a store nearby. dan: the sfpd does not want the attorney's office to investigate police shootings. phil scott says his department is terminating an agreement with the das office. we are tracking this story, and we have more details on why this decision was made. reporter: that agreement is what is known as a memorandum of understanding for mou. it allowed the das office to be the lead investigator for all police shootings in the city.

who will investigate these incidents? the agreement dates back several years, and was introduced under the previous district attorney, but renewed with the current da this past july. >> it is a binding agreement. it lists high levels principles and a particular case of how the district attorney might investigate officer-involved shooting's. reporter: sfpd's move comes as an officer is scheduled to stand trial for allegedly beating a man with a baton while responding to a domestic violence call in 2019. the investigator testified she felt pressure to withhold evidence. in a letter sent to the district attorney, san francisco police chief, bill scott, said the rules of the mou were broken, so he was terminating the agreement. he double down on it wednesday night. >> everybody who has anything to

do with this mou and the impacts depends on this being a fair system that we have confidence in. that is what this is about. reporter: the district attorney's office issued a statement of their own in response, it reads in part, since the mou between the office went into effect, our office has made enormous progress to reduce police violence, and particularly against people of color. it is this appointing but no coincidence the sfpd withdrew from the agreement during the first-ever trial against an on-duty police officer for an unlawful beating. the termination is set to take effect in 15 days, and chief scott reached out to the california attorney general to seek guidance and possible options for alternatives. we reached out to the mayor's office but have not heard back. kgabc 7 news. 7

surveillance footage, video after video of wild pigs in bay area communities. nocturnal animals not shy about ripping through lawns. >> they are dangerous animals. reporter: dangerous and destructive says the state senator. he recently introduced a bill that would replace the current wild pig tag requirement. licensed hunters in california need a tag for each wild pig killed. >> there were no tags in this case. they get licensed, and they are free to go out and take as many as they want. reporter: his bill would require a validation that would allow residents to pay $15 for a license, $50 for a nonresident. >> most residents want fewer guns and fewer -- and less cruelty. reporter: the animal-rights groups says the focus should be on seeking humane alternatives. >> with dogs and cats that are

a no clear woman, 23-year-old alexis gabe disappears. abc 7 news reporter sat down with her brother for some insight into what the family is going through. >> it felt like a regular day. she asked if she has mail at the post office. reporter: that was last wednesday afternoon, january 26. quinn gabe said his younger sister alexis gabe had not come home to the apartment she shares

with her parents. what made you feel this was a scary situation for her to disappear? >> because usually she comes home. she has responsibilities. she drops my brother off at school. reporter: the family launched an intensive search around brentwood and oakley. they found her light blue infiniti abandoned with the keys in the car. >> when my parents got there, my dad asked to open the trunk. there was nothing there. >> harrowing. reporter: his girlfriend is helping in the search for the recent nursing school graduate. her cell phone is turned off, and her personal belongings are gone. they knew something was wrong and reported her missing to police. they contacted her ex-boyfriend, someone she dated for three years until late 2021. he told them he saw her the night she vanished. >> he did say she was the

a woman was struck and killed while taking out her trash cans this morning. the driver stayed at the scene and was cooperative. it is the eighth pedestrian death in san jose since the first of this year. since 2015 they had a vision zero initiative to eliminate traffic vitality's, and is spending $6 million on infrastructure to prevent those crashes. dan: a southern caliph and you lawmaker proposed a bill to require schools to collect information from parents about their guns. they would have to report if there was a gun in the house if it is safely stored, and if the students has access to it. the state senator says it is designed to give districts the mandate they need to investigate and act on threats. >> if you receive a credible threat, follow that threat to the best extent possible, search for the weapon, keep it out of the hands of the shooter, make the classroom safe. dan: the bill would require schools to search students

property on campus if there was a credible threat of violence. the senator cites last year's shooting in michigan where the subject was not searched despite a credible threat. ama: a san jose city council committee is moving forward to waive or cover the cost of permit fees for the lighthouse ministries food pantry after a recent complaint. the nonprofit was told it would need a special use permit to give out food. according to sam has a spotlight, the deadline for lighthouse to apply for the permit will be pushed back, and the city council will vote sometime this year. dan: the city of pleasanton approved a grant program to help business owners rebuild their parklets. restaurant owners were forced to take them down last month because the city said it is necessary to do street maintenance. the city is working on a standard partlet design that can be approved in locations that will be available in april. ama: let's turn to those winds..
