>> i think the cdc is in a precarious position because they want to offer federal guidance but at the same time they don't want to make a call that will lead to more outbreaks. there is a discrepancy between what the cdc calls high transmission meeting more than 50 cases per 100,000 . we are -- it is concerning states are differing from what the cdc is doing and i hope there is more of a universal conversation ahead. >> there are people getting vaccinations now that it is making a difference and masking will not matter at this point? what do you think about that? >> i don't think we should say masks don't matter. the leap of faith is based on background vaccination rates, national immunity and people still doing the responsible thing like staying home if they have symptoms. i think as we get more data and

morning hills of hillsboro, it wind -- a violent felon was driving around this dark and quiet neighborhood in a stolen car. >> i thought it was a hit-and-run should >> austin fish was asleep when a car crashed into a fire hydrant just outside his house. what he did not know at the time -- anything suspicious about the circumstances? >> the time of night plus the fact the person was walking away from the vehicle and the vehicle was stolen. >> investigators say that person was john walton jr.. later that night, he became a suspect for the murder of a 30 old woman and a 15-year-old boy who police found dead in antioch after the crash in hillsboro. a neighbor had reported not seeing the victims for several days and called police for a welfare check. the hillsboro police captain says officers did not know that at the time when the bodies were discovered. >why were you not aware when he

was wanted on a double homicide? >> there was nothing in the system should even without that case, when we checked the system, we found an extensive criminal history for walton in california, tennessee and georgia. arrest records show he was on felony probation for carjacking out of contra costa county in may of last year. three other felony arrests related to auto theft and resisting arrest. a bench warrant out for his arrest in georgia for a felony domestic violence case for one of the victims he is suspected of murdering kid following the crash -- of murdering should following the crash, he was arrested but hours later released. >> it is scary to know seven like that could happen in this neighborhood. >> if covid protocols were not in place, you would have booked

friends in certain categories and when they hired their friends, their friends granted out the contracts to nonprofits even in other cities that should have gone to local 261 workers. >> the lawsuit claims 261's leadership blew the whistle on the public corruption scandal that is the subject of a continuing f guy investigation which resulted in the arrest and imprisonment of several people including the former department of public works director. the city targeted local 261 members. retaliation according to the lawsuit included denying workers access to bathrooms or hand facilities, which impacted women. >> i begged everybody in the city to give the workers a bathroom but they have not done it. >> the lawsuit alleges all in or around january of between 19 vincent courtney filed a formal
