>> building a better bay area, moving forward, finding solutions, this is abc 7 news. >> okun police have released new details about a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a 14-year-old antennae, investigators are still trying to piece together the evidence. thank you for joining us. oakland police just give an update on the -- j.r. stone is there and joins us live with the latest. than actual answers. police still try to figure out who the next of kin was or is in this case. this teen only 14 years old. we spoke with his brother, the

brother who told me he is still in shock. we talk about the two areas detectives are focused on. two of them in oakland. around 10:00 p.m., their system picked up a number of shots at 90 8th avenue and macarthur boulevard. another call came in about a team that had been shot on mountain boulevard. this was not far away. there is a church over there just shreds of the crimerom las. police saying that 14-year-old victim was in a car with others. he was taken from that car and those inside drove off. he said his brother was lov wasw and caring.

the pedestrian identified died at the hospital. this is san jose's 10th pedestrian fatality this year. >> agonizes over the thought that she may never see her son again. thankfully the two-year-old was found safe and sound and the suspect was arrested. you appreciate things a bit more than you did before. i am hugging him a little tighter. >> she often runs errands later at night or earlier in the morning. she was unloading groceries from

her car around 4:00 a.m. as jacob slept in the car seat. the car was stolen and jacob was gone. >> i was coming back to get my son and i heard her peel out. she drove for about an hour and part four miles away. eventually leaving the baby in the backseat to defend herself. strapped in this car seat, no food, no water and no one to change the stepper. >> that i was not coming. he actually doubted if i was coming or not. i am always right there. >> she cannot help but feel that she let her late husband down. he died when jacob was just a few months old. thank fully, police found jacob

of lightning in that area. some of the equipment in the area was struck by lightning. they said the damage knocked out power to several hundred customers but it has since been restored. >> you know that sound. there were reports of hail this morning. they appeared in this video from pittsburgh. >> our cameras did not capture anything quiet as intent in open. there were some sprinkles as well. so what does doppler show right now and what is on the way? >> sandhya patel is here with details. so interesting and weird to hear of the thunder today. >> you can say that we did not call for it. this is a welcome sight to see. i want to show you where it is raining. we will get you into street-level radar. the focus is on the south bay.

you will notice prim ridge avenue. it is wet. around the in land, east bay, antioch, if you are traveling, it will be slow going. this is a light level 1 system and what we are watching is this system going toward southern california. that is why the southern end of our viewing area is getting more moisture. the second part of this energy is coming down and that will bring us the potential for hail and even some stronger winds and the potential for high elevation. tomorrow morning, a few spotty showers and then we have a big gap. even some sunshine and by tomorrow night, here we go again. i will be back with the rest of the timeline, coming up. >> a massive shift to tackle a massive problem. governor newsom proposed a new plan that could force people up the streets and into the care they need. tarik was in san jose for the

more at the pump than ever before. we went out to find the cheapest gas station and figure out how cheap it really is. this is the cheapest option here. 4.85. >> you go right around the corner, $.20 cheaper. >> i have not found anywhere cheaper. it is inching up toward five dollars. crowded. >> a gem that is and not will hidden. it was the best deal in that area. on the other of the pumps, both several cents over five dollars but research did not end there. we kept looking for cheap prices but most places are either over five dollars or close to it. >> this has three different gas

stations, two of them over five dollars. one of them just under five dollars and the workers said he would be surprised if it got over six dollars. -- it did not get over six dollars. >> that is a lot of time on the road and a lot of money spent on gas. >> we're looking close to 400 week. maybe 435 a week in gas. then you add that up by three weeks. >> there were not a lot of cheaper options. to get gas? >> that is a lot of money.

probably remember those thunderstorms if you are in the in that east bay. still, the potential for some more hail coming in. although the thunder threat has diminished and i. temperatures in the 50's. a good five or 15 degrees below where we were yesterday. this is a light level 1 system. showers and possible hail. a snow chance at about my 500 feet. hour-by-hour, you may notice spotty showers. tomorrow morning, you will also notice that as well and then there is this big gap. you will see the sun. you will see what level 1 system. then we start to see the potential for some snow at the higher elevations going into saturday morning around mount hamilton. you will keep the showers skirting the coast as the second way comes down and then by saturday afternoon, things start to wind down. rainfall totals will range from a couple hundredths of an inch

to a 10th of an inch. it could not causing power outages and it may blow things around that are unsecured. tie things down. 30 or 40 mile-per-hour winds tomorrow morning at the coast. up to 50 miles per hour in the afternoon. this as we head into friday night and the wind will remain gusty for saturday but not white as strong. in the mountains, a winter weather advisory. through saturday afternoon, the snow level coming down to 1500 -- 1500 feet. we are talking the foothills of the sierra. warning temperatures, windy. grab the jacket, it will be cool. 50's and 60's for the highs.
