kumasi: a san francisco police officer has been acquitted. he was charged in connection to this october 2019 incident for beating a black civilian several times with his baton. a mistrial was declared on the fourth count. a spokesperson from the district attorney's office spoke with abc 7 about the verdict. >> this case is a reminder of the uphill battle to hold police accountable. we saw a lot of those obstacles play out in this case including the unchecked power of the poa. kumasi: this case is case is cas be the first time an officer has been tried for excessive force on duty. activists despite the not guilty verdict.

sunrise is on its way up and wep will find a lot of sunshine again today. we quickly warm into the 60's by noon. we will find sunshine getting us into the 70's. announce it is banning imports of russian oil. president biden will make that announcement official this morning. the move will cause gas prices in the u.s. to go up even more. russia has declared a new temporary cease-fire. kumasi: those evacuations are underway right now. this comes following the third round of talks between the countries. here's the latest on the situation. ukrainian officials are claiming two russian planes were shot down near the capital. more than 400 civilians have been killed in the fighting although that number is likely to be much higher.
