office monday night. literally, sleeping bags outside his door, demanding the unpaid teachers get their money. >> i think i owed $2000 or so. it is because there's all these issues with the new payroll system. they didn't create new codes for things. reporter: the covid code for additional sick days being one of those problems. substitute teachers not being paid for work at different schools, pay for those working after our programs and know access to health care or retirement benefits are all major issues. this camp was set up inside district headquarters, educators want picket lines outside and then a back-and-forth between the union and the superintendent. >> $900 does not seem like a crazy amount, but when you are living paycheck-to-paycheck, that is childcare for the week. reporter: the district claims a new payroll computer system, union heads disagree.

>> this is not a software issue, this is the problem of decisions are made from top management and continue to persist into march. reporter: dr. matthew says 15 more people have been brought in to help with the problems. since last friday, six to 700 additional payments have been made. -- 600 to 700 additional payments have been made. reporter: >> that shouldn't happen. reporter: as of late monday night, the union tells me they will be staying at the district headquarters overnight as they are still awaiting checks. ama: building a better bay area by boosting the economy, you could see a lot more european tourists in san francisco if mayor london breed gets her way. she left tonight for europe to promote san francisco as a tourism destination. it is one of the efforts to help recover from covid shutdowns. her 10 day trip includes stops in london, brussels, branford
