increase is starting to slow. a proposal coming today for a fa gas money refund. reporter: five dollars 99 cents a gallon for the regular ganis, so how does $400 sound? that is what lawmakers are going to propose. it will help to handle the cost of gas. bay area residents say will do what they can to save gas. they are driving less, keeping their tires inflated, driving better with more consolidated trips. another tip that we heard, see what you can take out of your car before you drive a. >> an extra 100 pounds of weight added to the vehicle increases

by 1%. going to your vehicle and clear out all the stuff you do not need. it will really help you to conserve gasoline and improve your fuel economy. reporter: back to the proposed rebate. there was a proposal to temporarily get rid of the gas tax. the proposal did not pass, did not make it to sacramento, but a couple will make a proposal today that will essentially be the same thing. it would give everyone a one time payment of $400. they argue it is better than getting bit of the gas tax, which funds projects. if you fill up once a week with a 15 gallon tank, you are spending $297 on that tax. this would be a $400 rebate.

the streets were blocked off. it is not clear what led up to the shooting. we will stay on top of this. as soon as we get more information, we will pass it along. vehicles are a factor, and blind spots could be affecting the line of sight for drivers. in 2020, over 600 pedestrians were killed, almost 60% from 2009. kumasi: efforts are underway to deal with the epidemic of pedestrian fatalities in the city. many restaurants have been killed since 2021. there have been 10 deaths already this year. the city will focus its attention on 17 where doors where most of the deaths have happened. one of the biggest challenges will be to change behavior,
