>> around 8:15, they learned about a crash when a cyclist in a large transport truck. sky 7 was overhead. you see the travel truck in the rightmost lane. the driver stayed on scene, describing him as cooperative. he's currently not facing any charges and don't believe drugs, alcohol, or speed were factors. cyclists say the intersection is known to be dangerous. >> it is the most brutal intersection i have been in in my life. people completely ignore you, especially from here. >> we asked about issues at the intersection. >> i don't want to equate those issues pertain to this incident. i can't confirm it at all. but we have been out there several times to conduct enforcement. >> the superintendent posted a public letter confirming the victim was a graham middle

authorize a fourth dose of the covid-19 vaccine for all adults. it doesn't mean all adults immediately need a booster shot. securing authorization would allow for more flexibility down the road if vaccine guidance changes. pfizer asks for authorization for an additional booster dose. their application was only for adults 65 years of age and older. the fda planning a meeting on booster shot recommendations for different age groups. two years ago today, the bay area began its coronavirus shelter-in-place. santa clara county's public health officer is expressing optimism for the future. she's thinking the community for making it happen. the diligence of residents and officials alike saved thousands of lives. santa clara county's death rate average is two times lower than the state, and 2.5 times lower

have a new warning about overdoses. the department of public health has an alert in response to a series of overdoses among people inadvertently exposed to fentanyl while using cocaine. investigators have seen three fatal and nine nonfatal fentanyl overdoses in the last two weeks involving people who say they thought they were using cocaine only. fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that can be up to 50 times more potent than heroin. the multiyear drought we are in will continue and it may worsen in the coming months. that is according to the national oceanic and atmospheric administration. here's what california looks like. extreme drought expanded from 12% of the state to 35% of the state. >> you look at the weather as a whole, we have some very wet weeks in december. january and february are very
