for the 13-year-old hit and killed while riding his bicycle. his family very shaken up by this tragedy. he was on his way to school and only blocks away. police learned about the crash between a cyclist and a transport truck on grant road in mountain view. the blue travel truck is in the right lane. the driver stayed on the scene, describing them as very cooperative. he is currently not facing charges. they don't believe drugs or speed were factors. it's unclear what caused the crash. this is a dangerous intersection. >> it's the most brutal intersection i've ever been in. people completely ignore you here, across the street, especially catty corner from here. gloria: the boy was middle school. the letter expressed condolences

the east bay say they need a pay raise over six years in the district is offering 7%. >> i know how vital their contract is. it's essential to retaining the teachers we have been bringing in new wins. love and a career does not buy groceries. it doesn't pay the bills. it doesn't put gas in the tank. amy: teachers chose to pick it because it's the day the fact-finding panel willtheyouncg recommendas. teachers believe the district can afford to give them raises, dating back to 2017 and going through 2024. the superintendent says there is not money for these wages. teachers will pick before and after school.

the overwhelming majority of members of already voted in favor of walking off the job. amy is live for us in walnut creek where teachers are expected to picket in a matter of hours. >> we are at one of the campuses where we expect to see picket lines. this is in a strike. it's a warm up. it teachers say they are a week away from a possible strike. today is a picket to show that they are united and serious. they chose today because the fact-finding panel will meet. it's expected t release nonbinding recommendations about how to proceed. these teachers say they need a 12% pay raise dating back to 2017 it through the end of 2024. the district says it cannot afford that. the district is offering a 7% raise.
