anchor: a deadly house fire in san jose. smoke the traveled so far some of you called into the newsroom. we are learning crews had a tough time putting out those claims. thank you for joining us. you are watching abc seven news at five. one person is dead and another is in the hospital after a house fire in east san jose this morning. our news tower cameras caught some of the plumes of smoke after the fire arrested. firefighters called to the home at about 10:00, when crews arrived, they found the entire house engulfed in flames. firefighters say the house appeared to be boarded up.

i know a lot of people who live in ukraine. reporter: many here are members of the georgian community, a country that knows too well the horrors of a russian invasion. >> these people know from their own experience the horrors of russian aggression, because in 2008, russia attacked georgia and occupied parts of georgian territory. >> we hope this will be valuable. reporter: george's consulate general said his country stands in solidarity. >> georgia >> russians are against this massacre.

100 cars were involved and we are waiting on a call from police. at one point, a video shows fireworks go off. there is no word if police arrested anyone or towed any cars. meantime, a sideshow in oakland oakland police tell us as many as 600 vehicles were blocking the road. doctors also discovered he had been shot. police say two other shootings happened as well, but those victims were not seriously hurt. two shootings last night left

when the driver exited toward country roads. the driver crashed into a tree on westside road and burst into flames. the driver was killed. officers are investigating the incident. chp is investigating a crash that happened earlier this morning. officers say driver was going the wrong way on eastbound i-80. that driver slammed into a tesla and because both vehicles to burst into frames. the freeway was shut down crews cleared the scene. it is shaping up to be a historic week in our nations capital. the hearings set to get underway that could lead to a first for our judicial system.

tomorrow will be a special day in the east bay. it is rosie the riveter day. the museum is a national park that honors women for their hard work during world war ii. the museum has become well-known for being home to the national park ranger. she is 100 years old and works for the museum via zoom. also happening in east bay, thousands of people participated in the running oakland festival. multiple races from a 5k to a marathon. it's the first time the event was open to spectators since 2019. >> it is still such a big rush to be out here in person. the energy is huge. it's a special day. dion: this video is from one of our colleagues showing people crossing the finish line.
