are feeling about it. amy? amy: there is controversy about it. one thing we can agree on is when you look at these gas prices, this is a gas station in walnut creek, we can all agree these debit cards will help. that is where the agreement seems to end. the governor's plan will give $400 to people for each registered car they have, up to two cars. critics say what about people who walk or ride their bike and don't have a car? saying this does not seem fair. and they say it encourages driving. for those receiving the money, it will be a big help and a political science professor pointed out that should be a win for the governor. >> it also doesn't hurt him that he is looking to running for reelection next year and maybe folks will remember, hey, i got a check from the governor. and that really helped out. so, it is also pretty political.

full accountability for war crimes in ukraine. reggie: one u.s. official says ukrainian forces are now currently making progress in their fight to take back territory near kyiv. in an effort to support the people of ukraine, santa clara county is terminated its russian sister city relationship. as dustin dorsey explains, russian born and bay area residents worry about the impact of that decision. dustin: as the crisis in ukraine continues, the sights and sounds of war are felt throughout the world. the santa clara county board of supervisors are standing up against the actions of the russian government. >> we don't approve of what they are doing. we think what they are doing is not just terrific and unconscionable, but demonstrates that they don't deserve to have relationships with other governments throughout the world. dustin: after maintaining a sister county relationship for nearly three decades, santa clara county unanimously approved to cut those ties.

reggie: we can't for sure say this is hank the tank but it is a large black bear. in any case, a pair of black bears caught scuffling outside of the building they live in in south lake tahoe. the person who took this video says he spotted one bear going in but when the second bear arrives, that is when they got into it. i guess one of them left his dishes in the sink and the other was not happy about it. they were back together again, peacefully, the next night. we are told they are best buds, once again. kumasi: people are so fascinated with hank and his friends. reggie: i am also fascinated with how they got into this small -- what is this building? there are two black bears living underneath it. if this is where they are living, how do we not know this? kumasi: what is that? you're right.

how it would work and why some of -- some others say it doesn't work at all. amy: at least it would help with this pain. look at these prices. we have heard lawmakers kick around ideas over how to help californians handle these gas prices. the governor is getting involved and he is proposing a plan. his plan includes those who take public transportation. the governor, suggesting bus and train rides be free for three months. he would send state money to transit agencies to cover that cost. for drivers, he is proposing a $400 debit card, for each car that they own up to two cars. critics say they believe this plan encourages driving. some say it misses the mark on who it helps. >> i think you will end up helping low income families that drive a little bit. you will be doing that at the cost of spending scarce resources, helping families that really don't need the help.

restrictions and return to the office have reenergized business. >> we are booking through october. a lot of weddings. corporate stuff is coming with short notice. april is coming. as soon as the mask was lifted. my phone rang 14 times that day. >> pre-pandemic, catering made to feed up to 300 people are down to trays for 10 to 30. he is booking events through august. >> it is overwhelming. i'd rather be overwhelmed with a lot of business coming in, especially catering. >> the last few weeks, hosting the 49ers cheerleaders and teaching tech workers how to make sushi. >> when you get the email, you are not sure if this is for virtual and they say no, we want to come in. >> it is corporate catering events with a side of caution. >> we need to be optimistic read we don't know what will happen in six months or a year.
