feeling what we are feeling right now, just please, put up a sign, something. amanda: an agonizing push for action from the mother of andre. exactly one week ago the teenager was hit and killed while riding his bike by a truck driver at el camino royale and his parents spoke to city officials over zoom over the vision zero action plan where the city addressed road safety and traffic fatalities. the meeting was scheduled before andre's death. >> he should be here with us and we want something done quicker than 2030. amanda: the police department is still investigating what led to the fatal delusion fatal collision. the teen's parents are pleading for more signage, calling for the city to implement a no turn on red.

bs. amanda: last september the city council approved entering into any agreement with caltrans to include pedestrian and bicycle improvements to the project to repave el camino. the city adopted a resolution to make more space available for protected bikeways and painted bike lanes, high visibility crosswalks and more. if plans are approve it would allow construction to begin by spring 2023. >> andre deserves this. thank you. amanda: in mountain view, abc7news. liz: it has been one month since the invasion of ukraine and the country's forces are fighting back against russian troops. this is the biggest conflict in europe since the second world war. tim johns has been following the war since it started and he has more on how leaders and people around the world are continuing to respond. tim: one month after the russian invasion began, the streets of

ukraine are changed forever. the fighting has raged on over the past four weeks and millions have fled as refugees. those that remain putting up a fierce resistance backed by the u.s. and its allies. on thursday president joe biden visited nato in belgium to discuss the crisis. pres. biden: putin was backing on nato being displayed. nato has never been more united than it is today. tim: if russia were to use chemical weapons against the ukrainian people, nato would respond. the president morning china of the economic consequences of -- if it were to help russia. pres. biden: i made no threats but i pointed out the corporations that have left russia as a conflict -- consequence of their barbaric behavior. tim: the outpouring of support for ukraine continues, many left horrified by the images of the war's destruction. >> a lot of atrocities.

months and she is still waiting for help. housing and community developing department say they distribute funds based on the area median income and said that the " program will operate until all complete applications received are processed and all edges -- eligible applicants have been paid. jobina: housing advocates worry that that might be too late for many families after next thursday. >> six months of rent exactly. and all of my savings are gone. from since the last year i have been wasting every single thing on rent, and now i am broke. jobina: according to the state, as of this week nearly 215 thousand households have received assistance, but there still are over 300,010 -- californians who are waiting to hear back from the state. drew: we are taking you to the san mateo bridge with some raindrops on the lens right now. we are finding drizzle in spots

and an indication that the marine layer is deep this morning leading to morning cloud and some afternoon sunshine. today is a similar day compared to yesterday. we have that morning gray sky breaking down for sunshine that slows the warming process. i knew we are in the 50's and 60's and along the coast like yesterday cloud cover remains intact for areas like half moon bay which will stay in the cloud cover for much of the day. away from the coast sunshine and comfortable temperatures in the 70's. a cool coast and a warm day inland. 61 in the city and a breezy and windy day. 74, san jose. half moon bay is cloudy with a high of 58 degrees. look at the rain chances in the second half of the weekend and early next week. sunday night into monday, we are tracking the next storm and the latest information is bringing the storm wetter than yesterday. light to moderate rain, dusty wind and it is certainly a slick monday morning commute.

incident and i hope it was two random cars and i was -- i hope it was not anything involved with the neighborhood. liz: neighbors say homicide detectives have contacted them asking about the home and victim. sheriffs officials have not said anything about a motive or possible suspects. jobina: the mother accused of faking her abduction five years ago returns to court. she has been out on bail for the last couple of weeks and a judge ordered her to go under a psychiatric evaluation and give up her passport as conditions for her bail. she vanished in 2016 but was found a few weeks later bound and injured. she is charged with making false statements to a federal law enforcement officer and mail fraud. she faces 25 years in prison if convicted. jobina: two people -- liz: two people are in custody after a chase involving a stolen truck.

dan: the driver went the wrong way on interstate 880 before getting off at davis street in san leandro. the chase continued into a reggie dental neighborhood and the driver narrowly misses -- into a residential neighborhood and the driver narrowly misses several intersections. he drives next to the railroad tracks under the bar tracks. our exclusive technology shows the driver turning onto harlan street stops, appears to reverse a short distance for continuing forward, turning around and driving towards officers who had gotten out of their cars with guns drawn. the driver reverses into a pickup and another car, driving towards officers again in denver versus, driving into bushes near another set of railroad tracks. he gets out of the truck and runs along the tracks. ends up a short distance array where he appears to run into one of the buildings. people came out of the dealership and pointed officers to where they had last seen this
