first, everyone is talking about the historic night at the oscars. three women hosted. troy kotsur one best supporting actor for coda, becoming the first deaf man to win an oscar for acting. ariana debose became the first openly queer woman of color to win best supporting actress. unfortunately, those moments were overshadowed by one of the most shocking moments in the show's history. >> keep my wife's name out [beep] mouth. >> it was a g.i. jane joke. dion: i feel tense just watching that. that was the moment everyone was

watching. will smith slapping chris rock in the face after he made a joke about jada pinkett smith and alopecia. a reminder to everyone, we are streaming live on facebook as well so please log in. the oscars. great to have you on the show. let's start with the slap heard round the world. everyone has an opinion. you take the most issue with how will smith responded in his acceptance speech. >> anybody can get mad and i can understand why the joke was over the line, but he had about 25 minutes to think about it.
3:03 pm
he sat there in the best he could come up with instead of an apology is to say, i'm trying to be god's vessel and you have to protect family and this person and that person. talking about how he wants to be a vessel of love. you just hit this guy. he is crying. to me, it just showed me he just seemed like a delusional and pathetic -- i never thought he was that good an actor, and when i saw that, i understand why. dion: you are not missing any words. i have to ask you, the fact he did not apologize to rock says a lot. >> that is the guy to apologize to. it's a shame.
3:04 pm
we have all been in situations where we have done something wrong. you look back on how you could have made it right and sometimes we do, most times we don't. we had that opportunity and did not take it. what i mean to say, limitations as an actor. performances of his are sentimental and you see this and say you can't get off of himself, his empathy is narcissism. he is a pleasant guy to be around. he is not a bad guy, but he made a mistake and this is going to be following him. if he went out today and did a press conference he wouldn't get the audience he would have had for the speech.
3:05 pm
it's a shame to see a guy fall apart. dion: it says a lot about his character. that's being reflected in our facebook comments. there are calls today for his oscar to be taken away. what do you have to say about an actor's personal life and how that leads over into professional skills? >> i don't care about anybody's personal life. i wouldn't take the oscar away. i wouldn't have given it to him in the first place. he got voted the oscar and that is fine with me. i am radical this way. i really don't care about anybody's personal life with regards to their art. some people draw the line, some people won't like a movie if they belong to a different political party.
3:06 pm
i would not throw them out of anything. i thought mikey was just sitting there and out of nowhere decided to hit somebody, in a human sense it was rather understandable. he should not have done it and he should have apologized. dion: you can see both cause -- sides. chris is not pressing charges nor did he know about the illness, he took the high road. smith is immature. had there not been a slap, what would have been the most memorable part? people are saying they did not pay attention. >> i thought it was a boring show. my job is to write an article and i had no idea what to write.
3:07 pm
if it weren't for this, jessica chastain has done one great performance after another. winning the academy award was good news. i like that ariana debose one, that will must be magic. two academy awards for the exact same role. coda, that is a sweet thing. i liked the movie. made people happy. dion: that brings me to our next question. there you see out screen, there have been #'s the oscars being so white. did you notice representation

so slowly, it is so incremental, one thing at a time. it marked another step in this period of our lives being over. dion: we only have a minute and a half left, it seems like the trends and how we watch movies are different. coda, the streaming trend is here to stay. >> it's here to stay for movies that are made for adults, movies not depending on the big screen like science fiction movies. a lot of people would feel happy to watch movies at home. in the old days, the best you

workers, they are looking at younger people. 40's and 50's. nobody was hospitalized. when they looked at the older population, they found when they got four shots, a few more people avoided going to the hospital and died at lower probability. the numbers are something like 233 died in the three shot group, and 92 died in the four shot group. the percentage was something in the order of 0.03% versus 0.1%.
3:16 pm
at the end of the day, i think the older you are is you will get a bang for your buck with the fourth shot, but it's probably most important to get three shots. dion: i'm glad you broke down those numbers with percentages. what stuck out to me was the decision to make that available, scientific advisors. is that normal? are we fast tracking this? >> it's not normal. because it doesn't fall into a recommendation, there have been tons of people asking me it is certainly not harmful in the is
