reporter. tim johns spoke to the man at the site this afternoon and shares his story. drive overhead on highway 101 in san rafael and you probably wouldn't even know it was. there but beneath this noisy underpass near 5th, and mission is a city managed homeless encampment. it's where james hellard lives toxins break dust, which is extremely poisonous. but now heller says, he sued the city of san rafael on wednesday. he claims that after living at the site for months. he andts had a series of health problems. i've got ringing in my ears. we're all we have coughs we have just these these slowly manifesting. health problems that we're not quite sure where it's going to go to five years from now hellert says that the conditions that the city sanctioned encampments are unlivable. we're human beings, you know and and getting in this position the homelessness is a very easy thing to do and it's a paramount almost impossible thing to get

out of but thinks that the powers that be view him and others like him as a mirror inconvenience. they've been getting away with this for so long that they probably didn't pay much attention to it san officials declined to comment due to the possibility of litigation, but hellert's wife. dawn says she too supports her husband's lawsuit. she tells abc 7 news that she hopes that will force the city to provide safer housing for them and the others who live here, whatever we get out of it. we'll put back into it and really help. people because for howard the move is about more than just defending himself. it's also about sticking up for others who he says. can't stick up for themselves. most of them don't want. themselves be known san rafael tim johns abc 7 news. moving on to developing news from ukraine where officials say russian troops are retreating

bay area this weekend for a second covid-19 vaccine booster shot just days after the cdc gave approval for certain age groups to get the vaccine vaccine clinics are seeing lot of interest abc 7 news reporter cornell bernard has the story from the north bay. yeah, this is number four. yeah, but the second booster. yeah. yeah girl, linda simone wasted no time getting her second covid booster shot because she's got a lot of living to catch up on with her family. i have three grandchildren and we i see them quite often this former. victoria's secret store is now a county vaccine clinic inside the northgate mall where most people are now looking for that fourth shot. so i have risk factors and so i to make sure that i was covered

robert hancock just got his second booster ready to party now on tuesday the cdc recommended an additional booster for immunocompromised people and those over 50 who got their first booster at least four months ago kimberly and richard fetcher were waiting in line to get theirs. do want to be healthy and myself and sisters are we got before probably kind of wearing off by now. that's what the data is showing. and so i want to get the booster shot now boosters were also happening here at marin community clinics for those who are eligible the public health department now recommends getting that poor shot sooner than later instead of waiting for the next surge to happen. it's really hard to predict when and where the next variant of concern could pop up how fast it will move and how variant or severe it might be. we also know that boosters take time to work to their full potential for now willis is recommending those 65 and older get a second booster.

and 50 at half moon bay. nice view from the east bay hills camera. he seems a little bouncy there because the winds are a little bit stronger up in the higher elevation. so we're looking along the bay bridge. you're looking west 52 degrees atanapa 55 51 at fairfield concord 62. that's our warm spot and 59 at livermore and a nice view from our rooftop camera. looking across the embarcadero. these are our forecast features. we'll see a few clouds tomorrow slightly cooler than today by just a couple of degrees. it'll be breezy on monday breezy are there tomorrow possibly some north bay sprinkles in the morning hours on monday. all otherwise will be dry on monday and some are like warm up is coming our way the middle of next week is going to get quite warm perhaps hot in some spots. here's a look at overnight conditions. we'll see an increase in high clouds and a little bit of a break in the early morning hours. mainly sunny skies more high clouds will be on the way later in the day and into the evening hours tomorrow and it'll be a little bit breezy tomorrow evening overnight. into monday now tonight low temperatures will drop into the low to mid 40s in the north bay

valleys over in the inlet east bay mid-40s will be the lows down on the south bay a low of 48, san jose 45 at morgan hill. we'll see mainly upper 40s right around the bay shoreline highs mid-50s at the coast. for 60s for the most part right around the bay shoreline low to mid 70s inland now. let's skip ahead with the forecast animation to monday to sunday night tomorrow night and then going into monday morning. we'll see this little wave of moisture moving into the pacific northwest. there may be a few sprinkles in that system that will reach the north bay, but we're not expecting area wide rainfall and not much measurable rain in the north bay. in fact, then after that, it's josh to dry out and it starts to warm up. and here's a look at that warm-up on the accuweather seven-day forecast a mild a day on monday a little bit warmer on tuesday with highs in our inland areas in the upper 70s. we'll see mid 80s inland by wednesday 80 degrees around the bayshore line. we expect record. well new record highs on thursday with inland highs around 90 degrees mid 80s around

everything costs more due to inflation. but if you look at the jobs market in the us, it may appear as though the economy is going in two different directions. food and gas prices just keep going up as inflation has hit a 40-year high americans are feeling the squeeze on their wallets, and that's forcing some to find another way to get by abc news reporter alex persha tells us there is one thing that could bring some relief. more and more americans are struggling financially with inflation at its highest level in 40 years when you're living paycheck to paycheck it hits you like a ton of bricks at the supermarket according to a new report from the usda the cost of groceries rose 1.4% between january and february this year prices are up 8.6% between february 2021 and february of 2022 poultry prices can move up by six to seven percent this year the cost of eggs up to two and a half and three and a half percent consumers are also paying more at the pump

net many companies are no longer limited by zip code alex perche abc news, washington california health officials are warning consumers of norovirus outbreak from raw, british columbian oysters. at least 34 people have become infected with the virus across california people have reported illnesses from march 11th through march 19th from nine restaurants throughout the state. canadian officials are investigating the source of the outbreak and have shut down multiple oyster farms in british columbia. well taking a live look at sfo where southwest airlines says it has fixed a technical glitch that led to nearly 2,000 flight delays and cancellations nationwide today. the airline says the glitch happened after routine overnight maintenance many passengers who showed up to board their saturday morning flights were grounded. according to flightaware more than 1,400 southwest flights were delayed that is more than
