tried to escape by slamming a stolen car into their cruisers. the alameda county district attorney's office released a report today saying there isn't enough evidence to bring charges. salgado's death sparked numerous protests. ama: stabbing occurred at gunderson high school. several students were involved. some parents came to the school after hearing about the stabbing. >> you worry about your own kid's safety. >> it is crazy and said and kids need to know there are consequences right now and they will affect them forever. ama: the district says it is working with police to work on the violence. they have a crisis team available to support students and staff. dan: we are in for a major warm up this week.

and the subvariant ba.2. that's type of variant often crops up and disappears on its own. the entire city of shanghai in china is under lockdown. the city is dealing with a record number of daily cases with 9000 on sunday. dan: a plan for a third casino in simone county is facing pushback. they have proposed a casino resort between santa rosa. several simona county tribes say they are against this. the board advisors will vote on a symbolic motion opposing this idea. j.r. stone has the story. >> not just one opposition letter, but five simona county tribes have signed on to a letter opposing a building of a casino resort. >> the five other tribes are

united and we are standing in solidarity with them. j.r.: david is concerned about coy nation's a plan to reestablish its tribal land base by building the resort and casino, a 200 room hotel and casino with a spot. we spoke with those from coy nation when they revealed the plan last september. they said the casino resort would create at least 2000 jobs. >> it is a resort. i prefer to be -- i prefer to call it a retreat. j.r.: the tribe's website says most of their people have lived in sonoma county more than 100 years. >> we don't want to step on the tribe's issues of establishing their homeland at the same time

large out-of-state corporations have set their sights on california. they've written a ballot proposal to allow online sports betting. they tell us it will fund programs for the homeless, but read the fine print. 90% of the profits go to out-of-state corporations, leaving almost nothing for the homeless. no real jobs are created here. but the promise between our state and our sovereign tribes would be broken forever. these out-of-state corporations don't care about california. but we do. stand with us.
