smashing grab robbers three times. its owner did not want to speak on camera, but tells us he's glad police now have suspects just steps away from that store. is this jewelry repair store another that was hit by smash and grab robbers though. the six suspects arrested are not charging connection with the robbery here at ryan. store, he says the arrests are still welcome news. that's a good sign of release our happy to hear out loud. yes, san jose police. say the six suspects arrested are believed to have worked together between october of 2021 to january of this year they're accused of targeting jewelry stores throughout the bay area. most of these incidents happened last year and these are long very allocated investigations, san jose police wouldn't go into details into how they're investigation linked the six of the crimes, but say they had help from several other bay area police departments and departments in roseville, california and merced police couldn't answer. how much jewelry they were able to recover but say the group was selling it as fast as they were stealing it, you know, they were

targeting jewelry stores, but you know some of the people we want to target is who's buying this stuff after these guys steal it that investigation is ongoing on top of the charges the six are facing in connection with the smash and grab robberies detectives also see several guns including assault weapons and self-made firearms without serial numbers that were converted to fully automatic weapons. the six suspects are all between 18 and 20 years old and now face consequences these suspects involved in these robberies. they're looking at significant prison time in san jose zach fuentes abc 7 news. a 15 year old girl was stabbed to death at her high school in stockton today. the suspect is described as a trespasser and has been arrested stockton police say he is a man in his 40s and drove to the school targeted the victim. however, no motive has been released stagg high school has placed was placed on lockdown immediately following this tragic incident santa clara county. sheriff's investigators. say they've made a breakthrough in a 29 year old cold case

searching for gun demo videos online when she came across this a popular life-size shooting target that she says resembles a black man. oh my reaction was what the hell is this? i know they are not shooting at a rubber black. i can't i couldn't believe it brown says even though the dummy is painted. the facial features are phenotypically those of a black person. the only reason is painted white is because you need to be able to see where the shots land when you are shooting at it, but phenotypically it is a black man. that's not deniable as shocked as brown was she was even more shocked to learn the southern california based company that makes the dummy because strawberry inc has a contract with the us general services administration. the demi is sold on a federal government website and available for purchase by other federal agencies. there's a long-standing history of violence against black people and the black body that this type of thing perpetuates, which makes it all the more problematic that our government is using our money to buy them.

sporadic attacks during almost two months of war. a historic house in berkeley purchased for the president of the uc system has been targeted by taggers abc 7 news reporter leslie. brinkley has more on the history of the house and the apparent reason it was tagged. the uc office of the president purchased this historically significant julia morgan mansion for 6.5 million dollars last week as a new residence for the uc president then over the weekend. it was tagged with wds save rochdale. apparently referencing rochdale village apartments near peoples park, which provides affordable co-op housing to hundreds of underrepresented students and faces. a lack of funding for a seismic retrofit the home was built in 1928 by the founders of glide memorial church in san francisco. it was designed by architect. julia morgan who is one of the first women to graduate from uc berkeley school of engineering and went on to create storied buildings from the greek theater to hearst castle uc on the homes

for decades and sold it in 1991 now buying it back with private not taxpayer dollars the uc office of the says it will be used as a residence and for entertaining calling it a long-term investment that will benefit the school the uc office of the president declined to do an on-camera interview, but they did issue a statement saying we are constantly reviewing our security protocols and our competent in our current posture. the graffiti was scrawled on the front overnight friday cruise came in monday morning to clean the facade and remove the messaging the rochdale student housing manager. size they had no connection to the graffiti, but were dismayed to learn the university of california bought the julia morgan property. there's not affordable housing and it's just very frustrating that here we're struggling to make sure that our friends have a room to live in to go to school. but here it is uc berkeley. 96 million dollars for one person while less the students

impact scale so for tonight overnight and tomorrow morning, we can expect periods of light rain scattered showers less than a inch rain for most areas, but there's more coming later in the week. let's look at this first storm first the forecast animation starting at 7 o'clock tonight between the 7 pm and midnight. we'll see the storm expanding eastward and southward covering other parts of the bay area as the morning commute gets underway tomorrow. there'll be a lot of wet pavement out there all out there. although the rainfall will pretty much have ended in terms of any city and moved over into the sierra where by the way a winter weather advisory will be in effect from 2 am to 2 pm tomorrow. we're expecting maybe four to seven inches of snow above 6,500 feet with of course slippery roadways back here in the bay area overnight lows will drop into the upper 40s to low 50s highest tomorrow as clouds linger, maybe even a sprinkler or two up in the north bay will range from upper 50s at the coast to mid 60s around the shoreline to upper 60s inland and then we resume the forecast animation showing you the arrival of more rain, wednesday
